How I Make My Labels
If you're new here; Hi, I'm Emily, I have ADHD and I love to label everything! One of the questions I get frequently is how I make all of my labels. Long story short, I do it using my Cricut. I have a Cricut Explore 3, which was actually gifted to me by Cricut a few years ago when I worked with them on a campaign, but I had bought myself a Cricut Explore 2 the year before, and I was using it to make labels then too. Like I said, I love labels! So let's talk about the steps it takes to make a label with the Cricut.
My Favorite DIY Jigs
A jig is something that you use to help make a DIY task easier. I use them a lot and want to recommend the best to you too! I'm really going to focus on the jigs that I have personally used because I have hands on experience with them. So, let's talk about my favorite tool jigs that I use for my DIY projects.
Make Your Own Wall Mounted Umbrella Holder
I very often have lots of scrap wood left over from different projects I have done. My mom requested an umbrella holder so she could hang it on the wall in her garage where the umbrellas could be out of the way and off the floor. I decided to take some of the scrap wood I had laying around and make an umbrella stand for her. This was a really easy project with very few materials and I'm going to walk you through how to do it!
My Favorite Home Organization Hacks
A comment I get a lot, especially when I share videos about home organization, is that I'm very organized. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 16 so since then I have learned a lot of different things that I can do that help manage my ADHD. One of those things is staying organized. Organization is not a skill that I come by naturally. In fact, as a kid, I very distinctly remember cleaning up my room one day and a friend that I grew up with came over and said "wow, I didn't even know you had a floor in your room!" It is something that I work towards every single day. I'm constantly reorganizing things in order to stay on top of it. So today I want to share with you some of my home organization tips to help you stay more organized in case you're neurodivergent or you have trouble staying organized as well.
DIY Wall Calendar
I wanted to hang a new calendar on the wall in the loft, but didn't like any that I was finding in stores so I decided to make my own! I figured I would show you how to make your own acrylic wall calendar too. If you have a Cricut, this will be super easy with minimal supplies. Let's get started!
Home Organization Downloads
It's the start of the new year which comes which for me comes with the urge to purge, organize and simplify my life. Let's talk about the home organization downloads. I have six different ones on my site and I've designed them all to help make your life a little bit easier.
2023 Recap
2023 was quite the year, both for our family and content wise! So let's do a quick little recap of the year as a whole.
Merry Christmas from the Bylunds
We have had a wonderful 2023 with so many new and exciting projects, most notably with the addition of baby brother! We have a lot of really exciting stuff for our family that's happening in 2024, and I can't wait to share it with all of you. Thank you so much for being here, I really appreciate it and am so grateful for each and every one of you. Merry Christmas from our family to yours. I hope you had a wonderful 2023 and that you have an amazing 2024!
My Dad’s Closet Refresh
My parents moved into the house they live in now in 2020. When they did my dad had this massive closet that he was not using most of. So he asked me to redo to make it a little bit more functional for him. Since he was only using a fraction of it we decided to dedicate the half he wasn't using to storage. The previous owner of this home had really random cabinets in the space that had locks on them as well as outlets and vents (frankly, very bizarre in my opinion) and there were so many more drawers than my dad ever would need. So I got to work using what I could that was leftover from the previous owner to make an adequate storage solution happen while keeping the integrity of the closet.
New Year’s Eve Tile Mat Ideas
We did some Holiday tile mat designs, but now that 2023 is coming to a close let's specifically do some New Year's designs to ring in 2024!
How We Keep a Routine During Winter Break
Keeping a routine during a break from school is especially important to our Neurodivergent house. My husband and I both have ADHD, our daughter is autistic and we have a new baby this year as well. I have inattentive ADHD, which means that I thrive not on a schedule and left to my own devices. I am perfectly content to lay around and do nothing all day. On the other hand, my autistic daughter desperately needs a schedule and routine in order to do well throughout the day. So let's talk about how we manage that during a break from our normal routine.
My Favorite Nativities
My mom has collected nativities for as long as I can remember. She has them from all over the world. In the time that my husband and I have been married, I started have started collecting nativities of my own, including ones that I have got while traveling. They have become some of my favorite treasured Christmas decorations and I want to share a few of my favorites with you. I've rounded up a few of my favorites and a few of my mom's favorites because she has some beautiful ones that I have grown up loving.
