When we moved into our house in 2020, we upgraded from a queen to a king size bed. At the time I bought the cheapest bed frame that I could find that I was moderately okay with and, honestly, it has not held up well. So I went to a local lumber yard, found a gorgeous piece of wormy maple and decided to build a headboard that I actually loved.

We're back again to talk about another set of tools that are really necessary. Today, we're going over why you need BOTH a power drill and an impact driver.

Whenever I share about the house bed that I built for my daughter, I inevitably get a lot of  repeated questions about it. So I'm dedicating an entire post to the eight most frequently asked questions I get about the house bed. These are not in any particular order. They're just questions that I get and I'm going to answer for you today.

When my parents moved into their house over three years ago, my grandparents also moved into the house with them. After about a year in the house, my parents decided to renovate the Jack and Jill bathroom and two bedrooms into a suite for my grandparents. When they were designing the suite, one of the things they wanted in the renovation was to create a hallway of closets. While my mom got several quotes from multiple companies for installing a set of closets in this space, they were all very expensive. Together, we came up with a design and I decided it to tackle it myself.

If you have a glass shower door on your tub and you don't want it there anymore for aesthetic reasons or because it might not be safe, you are not alone. My mom had two of these in her house when she moved in and she asked me to remove both of them. When I removed one I discovered that it was barely secured to the wall! It came off super easily, which is terrifying, but in doing so I realized that I could take one of these off in about a day and it's not a big deal. Let me show you how I did it.

The first big project I ever did was putting shelves in a weird nook area in the loft of my parents house. I did this even before my most viral house bed that I built for my daughter a month later. When I did these shelves I was still learning a lot through trial and error in my DIY projects so I knew that I wanted to go back, use all of my new knowledge and do these shelves the right way.

Last year I built two workbenches using drawers from an old office and cabinets that my grandmother had gifted to me before she passed away. Unfortunately, with all of the drawers and space in the back filled, the wheels started coming off of the big workbench. Every time I did a quick fix they would inevitably break off again. So, I had to come up with a new solution I figured this was a good time to revamp my workbenches to better fit my needs. Let me show you what I did!

My mom asked me to redo a closet they have in their front hallway. When they moved in, all it had was a wire rack in the back and the hooks on the side. So I took everything out and got to work.
