My Favorite Non-Power Tools

DIY

I decided to do a round up of all of my favorite (and sometimes new or unconventional) non-power tools. Spoiler alert: this list doesn't include my tape measure because that, to me, is just an obvious. Lets go!

My Favorite Non Power Tools | Baby Wipes

First one is baby wipes. Baby wipes really are a DIY essential for me. I love them because they are inexpensive, they will clean up almost anything, are disposable, are really great for finish work, and come in clutch when you have your hands full and need to clean something quickly.

My Favorite Non Power Tools | Micro Detail Sander

Another tool I use ALL the time is a micro detail sander. I am relatively new to this product since I've just started using it in the last few month, but I am sold. I absolutely love it! I  got mine from Amazon. It has several different grit options, and you can use it for little tiny for finishing work. I most recently used it when I fixed a pumpkin tower decor piece for my mom. It was perfect for getting all of the tiny little cracks and getting that to look the way I wanted it to.

My Favorite Non Power Tools | Stud Finder

In my opinion, every home should have a stud finder. I  really like the stud finder I have because it tells you the whole width of the stud. Instead of just telling where one is. It also tells you when there's electrical by the stud, which is a safety must. You will use a stud finder anytime you want to safely secure things to your walls, but I also really like it for when I am removing baseboards. I covered this in my post on the best way to remove baseboards, but finding the studs and removing baseboards makes the whole process so much easier.

My Favorite Non Power Tools | Utility Knife

Another tool that you're going to use when you remove baseboards is a utility knife. However, a utility knife is really great for just about every single project. I've used it for removing carpet, for removing baseboards and, of course, there's always the need to open packages easily. The nice thing about a utility knife is you can get them pretty much anywhere, from a lot of brands and at a lot of different price points. Its an excellent tool to have in your arsenal.

My Favorite Non Power Tools | A Trim Puller

Continuing with the baseboard theme, this tool has been my favorite thing ever when it comes to removing baseboards, it's seriously great for getting the baseboards off of the wall. I like the one I have because it double sided. One side is more of a crowbar and the other side is more of a wedge so you can wedge it in the gap between the baseboard and the wall and then hammer it if you need to. This is another fairly inexpensive tool that I use. really regularly and highly recommend having.

My Favorite Non Power Tools | Silicone Glue Brush

I love my silicone glue brush! So much so that I actually lost the head of it into a bottle of glue and was pretty devastated about it. I'm anxiously waiting for the new one to come in the mail! This is great for SO many things. It just smooths everything out and you end up wasting so much less glue. All of these tools have become staples in my DIY projects and I'm sure you will end up loving them too! You can shop all of these products below.
