When we moved into our house in 2020, I knew I wanted to redo our primary bedroom closet. It had wire shelving that I hate and wasn't utilizing the space efficiently. I started off with an IKEA design. However, our closest IKEA is two hours away. It didn't have everything we needed and it was going be $250 to ship and some of it wouldn't even be able to ship. I decided to use things we had and buy some other things to fit the space and make it on my own.

We have a set that was my grandmother's from childhood, so it is over a hundred years old. It is the small vanity, a tall dresser, and then what used to be a set of twin beds that my parents had combined into a queen bed. The head board is two headboards combined into one. There is a distinct seam where the two bed frames were combined. The issue we have is that on the footboard of the bed frame at very bottom there is a rippled detail piece. This piece is starting to come off, the glue has worn away and some of the dowels are breaking. So I decided to take a look at it and see if there was something I could do to fix it. It's a very sentimental piece that I  know my parents don't want to have to get rid of. So I decided to take a look at it and see if there was something I could do to fix it.

My parents very graciously offered the unused part of their garage for storage of all of my tools. Considering my previous storage space consisted of the closet under my stairs, this was a huge upgrade. There was even room for a few workbenches, so I pulled out all of the rusty nails from some scrap wood I had, grabbed some hand-me-down cabinets and started assembling my custom workbenches!
