DIY Corner Cabinet Drawers
Today I'm finally doing something that I've always wanted to do in our house: adding shelves to the weird corner cabinet in our kitchen. It's kind of a like an "L " shape except there is no actual "L" because there is no corner just a really weird angle. I've really been wanting to better utilize this space so I don't have to take everything out in order to reach something. I've looked at different corner cabinet devices that you can buy online, but they're like $600 for a basic one, which is insane! Instead, I saw someone that I follow that build a corner cabinet that was exactly like mine with custom drawers and realized that I can probably simulate the same thing with drawers from Amazon. It's an easy addition that makes a really big impact.

DIY Flower Mirror
Today I'm sharing a fairly simple DIY project that I've been wanting to do for a really long time. When we moved into our house, I immediately started personalizing and updating our spaces. One of the places I started was my daughter's bathroom. I added vertical shiplap next to her bathtub so I could hang hooks because anyone that has kids knows that hooks are far superior to towel rods. After that, I painted and changed out the hardware on her vanity and sink. It's pink and girly and very her. The one thing I didn't address at the time, though, was her mirror.

Wood Play Car
For the second half of 2024, my family lived in Argentina. We fell in love with the playgrounds in Buenos Aires, they are the best! At one of playgrounds there was an awesome wood play car that my kids and I were absolutely obsessed with. I knew that I wanted to replicate it at home and since my parents have been in the process of redoing their yard we had the space for it. So, after we got home and I got a few other small projects done I knew that it was time to make THE car!

Lily Ann Cabinets Bonus Room
Time for a new project! My aunt and uncle have an awkward space above their garage. It’s kind of a bonus room that the builder finished, but they haven’t known how to use this space. So, with the help of the amazing team at Lily Ann Cabinets, I was able to take this bonus room space and make it so much more functional. Lily Ann Cabinets helped me design a space that included a desk area, a window seat, and tons of storage cabinets all in the White Shaker Elite style. So, let’s get started!

Customizable Cabinets with Lily Ann Cabinets
Time for a new project! I'm going to take an awkward bonus room and make it much more functional. With the help of Lily Ann Cabinets, we have created a desk space, a window seat, and tons of cabinets for storage. I’m so excited to see this space come together, so I want to show you how easy it is to use Lily Ann cabinets for yourself!

Peel & Stick Wallpaper for Powder Bathroom
In 2021 I decided to upgrade our very basic builder grade half bath on our first floor. It's a tall space so I wanted to split it up by adding a chair rail. I knew that I wanted to do some wallpaper on the top and after doing some research I decided to go with the peel and stick wallpaper from West Coast Wallpaper. It was so simple to order, after finding a pattern that I liked I gave them the measurements for the bathroom. They sent it in a set of panels that were clearly labeled so that I knew exactly what to do.

Built in Bookshelves with Bench + Download
The bookshelf we had in Jackie’s bedroom just was not cutting it. It was overflowing, it wasn’t secured to the wall and there was too much extra stuff that we wanted to put on it that we just didn’t have room for. I went to Pinterest to look for something that might work for the space. I ended up finding a Pottery Barn shelf that had a ledge on it that I absolutely loved. I did not, however, love the price. So, I came up with my own much taller design of that shelf, got all the measurements I needed and got to work.

Refinishing Antique Dressers
I've had this set of dressers my entire life. They belonged to my grandparents on my dad’s side. I love the quality and the sentimental value of them, but they just really aren’t my style. However, after years of my dad telling me he didn't want me to change anything about them, he finally agreed to let me do something with them. So, now I get to update them to fit the esthetic of my home a little more.

Cookie Garland for the Holidays
Something I started doing in the last few years that my mom has always done is a Christmas cookie garland. My mom always did it over a doorway so she could see it often. Last year with the sudden passing of my Oma (grandmother in German) my mom wasn’t really feeling up to putting any of her decorations up. However, she’s always told me how much she loves it, and I know my Oma loved the tradition. So, I helped her put it up in the perfect spot around the window in the kitchen so she could see it from the whole kitchen, and I know it made her feel better through her grief.

Adding a Storage Closet Under Our Stairs
Our builder made a little indent underneath our stairs on our main floor. It was pretty useless, so when we first moved in I added shelves. In the process of adding shelves we figured out there was nothing underneath our stairs. I knew that I wanted to do something with the space because, with the little amount of storage we have in this house, every extra bit counts!

Small Desk Build + Download Build Plans
Earlier this week, I talked about Creating the Primary Bedroom Of Your Dreams. When I was painting our bedroom I decided that I really wanted to change The Husband's desk. I wanted something that better fit the clean lines and aesthetic of the room, so I broke out the saw and the pile of scrap wood I have (this is why I love saving scrap wood!) and went to work.

Creating the Primary Bedroom Of Your Dreams
When we first moved into this house, every room was a basic gray paint with nothing on the walls and no kind of treatments or customization, a true builder house. I originally thought I wanted our house to be all neutral colors, but the longer we have lived in this house, the more colors I want to add to it! I spent 9 months deciding on the very first thing I wanted to do and then a year after that coming up with my final design. Today I am going to walk you through that entire process and how I landed on the final design!
I have linked all the supplies, tools and things I added to our room at the bottom of this post.
