If you have been here a while, you'll know that we added a closet under the stairs in our house a few years ago. For some reason the builder didn't and it was a total waste of space. It has been my tool closet since we built it and has worked well. However, I don't need it as my tool closet anymore because I have workbenches now. It has unfortunately become a dumping ground. I haven't even able to go into because it's so full of random stuff! It's time to clean it out and make it a much more functional space in time for baby to get here.

A few posts back I talked about how I organized the entertainment center. I did a lot of decluttering in the process and I promised I would go over how I declutter toys in our neurodivergent home. These tips might not work for everyone, but they work really well for our family. Let's get started!

 Now that the entertainment system is all in, we have our new couch and I have gone through all of the other closets in the house, let's get this entertainment center organized!

If you have kids, you know it’s necessary to have a stool in your bathroom. However, most of the time adding a bulky stool can totally throw off the aesthetic of your space. Let me show how I customized stools to add to our bathrooms.

When I redid our loft bathroom, I really liked how big the mirror was, especially in comparison to the rest of the space because this is a really massive bathroom. However, after I redid everything else, I realized the mirror just looked bare and contrasted with the rest of the space. I decided to build a custom frame for it!

In order to get ready for baby number two to come, we needed to rearrange and redo our first floor to accommodate our TV and our play area. I knew that I wanted to add extra storage, and from there it just snowballed into a whole first floor makeover. So, follow along to see what I did!

I decided to take Jackie’s builder basic bathroom and step it up a notch. It needed to be more functional. We needed more space for hanging stuff that was not on the back of the door and I wanted it to reflect her style. It’s amazing what a change in hardware, some paint, and a little bit of shiplap can do to transform a space!

When I first started redoing our primary bedroom, we moved my husband's desk over to the corner of the room. That took away the space that we were using previously for our full length mirror. I knew I needed to find a new space for it because it was just awkwardly sitting behind the bedroom door and that just wasn’t going to work. Hanging it on the back of the door wasn't an option either because there was too much light coming in from behind it. So, I spent some time wandering around our house and I decided that the landing at the top of our first set of stairs was going to be the best option since there was a good amount of space to work with. I liked that there was nothing on the wall, the lighting was good and there was plenty of space for me to make this a cozy little nook, so that's what I decided to do. So I got to work.
