A Field Trip to Ecoparque
Tuesdays are the day that we have a cleaning company come clean our apartment here in Buenos Aires, which is awesome. However, they come randomly anytime between 10 and 6 on Tuesdays. I have started to put a sign on the door when the baby's napping because he's in a phase where he will only nap in his crib, so I really don't want that time interrupted. After that, though, I try to get out of the apartment so that we're not in the way when they're cleaning. We've started to make a fun "field trip" of it. This week we decided to go to Ecoparque.
A Day at Temaiken
Come with us for a day at Temaiken. This is a zoo and ecological park about 40 minutes outside of Buenos Aires. We went on a weekday when it was cold and kind of misting out and there was almost no one there, it was incredible!
Celebrating Día de las Infancias in Argentina
August 18th was Dia de las Niñas or Dia de las Infancias, which is Childhood Day here in Argentina and it is a BIG deal. I had so many people ask me if we celebrate this in the US and we don't, but I can confidently tell you that we should!
A Weekend in Colonia del Sacramento
Come with us for a weekend in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay! Our original plan was to be on the 12:30 PM Buquebus ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia, but immigration decided that we needed a document that we didn't actually need. So we had to push our ferry back to the 6:45 PM. Since it turned out that we didn't actually need those documents, it was incredibly frustrating that we lost half a day. However, once we were able to get on the ferry the day really turned around.
Culture Shocks When We Moved to Buenos Aires
For the most part it has been pretty smooth since moving here. However, there have been a few culture shocks that I've experienced as an American moving to Argentina.
How I'm Doing Homeschool While We Are Traveling
We've been here in Argentina for almost two months now and there's a lot happening with that I want to tell you about what we're doing for homeschool.
Things I Love About Living in Argentina
There are many things that I LOVE about Buenos Aires, but three things in particular stand out especially when I compare them to their counterparts at home.
Things I Regret Bringing or Forgot for 6 Months Out of the Country
Since I've already addressed the things that I'm glad that I brought overseas I wanted to also go over the things that I regret bringing or wish that I had brought for six months in Argentina.
10 Things I Am Glad I Brought for 6 Months Out of the Country
We've officially been in Argentina for a month. Since we are nice and settled I've been able to think about all of the things that we have that I'm SO glad we brought from home. So I wanted to share this list with you incase you are planning any overseas travel too!
Why We Bought Another Stroller
I did something I swore that I would never do. I bought a second stroller. If you know me at all you know that this a HUGE deal. We have had our UPPAbaby Vista stroller since 2016 when I bought it. The Black Friday before my daughter was born. I love this stroller with all of my heart. We use it constantly and both of our kids have loved it. I love that the rumble seat goes up to 50 pounds, It folds up really nicely and will stand up on its own and it's easy to take care of. UPPAbaby is also amazing when it comes to warranty and replacing parts or even finding new parts that need to be replaced that aren't under warranty. While this is an expensive stroller, you get the bassinet and the rumble seat with it and it has lasted us seven years, two kids and a lot of traveling.
Airplane Activity Kits
It was a long flight to Argentina so I made sure to make each of the kids airplane activity kits to keep them entertained. We put each kids toys in a travel cosmetic case and I want to show you what I put in each, because they were a hit and came in clutch for the flight.
Packing for Argentina
My family is going to Argentina for six months. We are leaving the beginning of June and we're coming back mid December and it's time to pack! There's a lot of stuff I can't pack yet because we're using it but once Jackie is out of school I will be able to go through her stuff with her and have her pick out favorite toys. I thought I would take you along for the ride while I packed to show you the suitcases that we have, the packing cubes that I'm using, the essential things that I'm using to pack.
