My Go To Places to Travel In Europe | Did You Know This Used to Be A Travel Blog?

When I started Breezing Through, back in 2014, it was a travel blog. I was traveling a lot for work and often was asked about packing, clothes, where to go, etc. So I decided to put it all in one place for people to access. Well when I started the blog, most of my travel was in the Middle East. I never really covered all of my previous Europe travel. So when a friend, who moved to Europe, recently asked me where my go to places in Europe were, I realized I never actually put an entire post together with all of the information I had for you all! So today, I want to fix that! This is going to be a long post, with links to more in depth blog posts for some of my recommendations. I will preface this with acknowledging that a lot of this travel happened more than 5 years ago so specific restaurants and hotels may no longer be in these locations. I also spoke with Paris, Chuck and Dan (they all used to contribute to travel posts) and gathered some of their favorite places to travel as well!

My Go To Places to Travel In Europe | Car Service in Europe

So when it comes to car travel, we really avoided renting cars, especially when traveling for work. We will live in era of Uber and the public transport in Europe is far superior to what we have here in the US. So we always stick to that. But if you are looking for a nice car service to take you to and from the airport or maybe a location that is a little off the beaten path, I would highly suggest Blacklane. My Go To Places to Travel In Europe | Trips

Before we get into specific locations, let's talk about trips for a minute. We have done road trips, train trips, boat trips, you name it. Each one has their own unique experience and you should try at least one of them while in Europe! I only have one blog post on our trips, but I have listed a few other options below.

Royal Triangle (fly to Prague, train to Vienna, boat to Budapest). Dan has done this and says it's amazing

Stockholm and the Norwegian coast. Stay in Bergen and use it as a base for seeing the Fjords in Norway (from Dan)

In Tallinn, Estonia stay at the Telegraaf Hotel in the Old Town. Tallinn is a coastal city that's like being in a fairytale. It has the cutest shopping and markets. If you are in Finland, it is an easy ferry ride away.

Train from Insbroke to Zurich. Chuck & Paris have done this and say it is amazing!

Austria holds a special place in our hearts. Chuck, my dad, was born in Austria. Dan, spent a summer abroad there. For work, we go back at least twice a year. My Go To Places to Travel In Europe | Germany

Berlin is also a special place for my family. Paris's dad, Opa, was born in Berlin and grew up there during WWII. Not only did he survive the war as a child, but he ended up immigrating to the US and joining the US Airforce (the irony). My family has gone back many times, including right after the Berlin Wall came down. We have encased pieces of the wall that will always be in the family.

The Black Forest is a must when in Germany, but you really need to drive through it to experience it. I took the train with my grandparents while Chuck, Paris, Dan and my brother drove. I really wish I had driven looking back.

Why go to Paris, when you can go to other amazing parts of France? Paris is a wonderful city but I feel like the rest of the country gets forgotten and it shouldn't be!

Villefranche-sur-Mer, France is on the coast of the Mediterranean and is breathtaking. Think Nice or Monaco but much less crowded! Not too far inland you can visit Palais de Papes in Avignon, which is really cool!

Italy is always a great country to visit. Rome is an incredible city, but much like Paris, seems to be the big tourist destination. I would highly recommend going outside of Rome and seeing the rest of the country as well. Here are some blog posts from our trips to Italy.

The United Kingdom as a whole is such an incredible country. I feel like there is so much to see in such a tiny amount of land. We have spent a lot of time in London so must of my posts relate to the city but be sure to branch out and go to the countryside as well!

Edinburgh, Scotland is a favorite in our family. There is a lot of history there and if you happen to golf, I hear there is a famous course there.
