How I Organized Our Pantry | New Pantry

I am so excited to start sharing how I am organizing our spaces with you! First up is our pantry. The builder of our house really likes to use all of the space and square footage so the pantry is only about a foot deep but it is 6 feet wide. So there is a lot of space to work with. However, like with most builders, they installed the terrible white wire shelves. I hate these shelves. I do plan on eventually building some shelves for this pantry that better utilize the space but it will be a few months until I get to that! So let's talk about how I organized this space.

How I Organized Our Pantry | Organization

Like most things in this house, I tried to do everything I could with what we had before I bought anything new. I used a lot of baskets and bins that we used in other parts of the apartment and didn't have a place in the house for them yet. Anything that I didn't want to be able to see (snacks, treats, things I didn't want Jackie to be able to see right away) I put in baskets. These baskets were the perfect size for our pantry and they are great for holding snacks & chips. I have had this basket since we got married, it was a wedding gift, and it was perfect for the floor of the pantry to hold drinks, diapers and Jackie's lunchbox. Since it has wheels, it is easily moved in and out of the pantry. These round baskets are also great for the floor of the pantry to hold large objects and trash bags.

After I used everything I already had, I bought a few more things to finish off the rest. I used these clear bins (large, small) to hold larger items that I wanted to be able to see. I also loved the idea of being able to see all of the jars and cans in the pantry so I bought this expandable pantry organizer and used this one that I already had. It really opens up the space and keeps everything from looking cluttered.

How I Organized Our Pantry | Labels

My final touch for organizing the pantry was adding labels. For Mother's Day this year, I got a Cricut. I haven't had a chance to use it a lot but I thought it would be really fun to make some labels for the pantry! I used one of the fonts in the Cricut software and white vinyl to create these labels. I did make them larger than I was initially planning but I really like how they turned out. You can actually read the labels from far away, which is great for later down the road with Jackie.
