DIY Ornament Garland
Have you ever seen a Christmas ornament you love and wish there was a garland to go with it? Well, let's make a really fast DIY ornament garland so you won't ever have that problem.
I got eight of these cute reindeer ornaments, a skein of yarn that matched the ornaments, a very large needle and some scissors. The first thing I did was cut the loops off of each of the ornaments and decided which way I wanted the reindeer to be facing. After that, I got the yarn and threaded it through the needle and got started. Then came the hard part: figuring out which direction to put the yarn through. I had to consider if I was going to go through the body or head and through the front or back. It took a few different tries to figure it out, but for these reindeer, the neck was the best option because it was the least amount of space to go through the ornament.
I believe these are foam on the inside, so once I got that figured out, it was a lot easier. It was thick enough that I had to press the needle onto the floor in order to push the ornament through, but once the needle came all the way through, it was a lot easier. Then I just strung each ornament onto the yarn and made sure they were spaced in a way that I liked.
With the excess on each end, this ended up being about an eight foot garland. I really wish that I had gotten a video of this on my tree, but I originally did this back in 2023, not knowing that I would be in Buenos Aires leading up to Christmas. I don't have it to show you what it actually looks like, but I think you can get the picture. I will eventually share what it looks like on a tree when I get home later in December.
