I am so picky about my diaper bags. You can read all about howI choose my diaper bags here. This Fawn Design bag is one of my favorites, so much so that I have it in two colors. I love having a backpack as a diaper bag. There is something amazing about having both hands free while also chasing your child around. I am also loving the new Freshly Picked diaper bag. I can't decide between the navy, ebony and stone colors. Both the Fawn Design and the Freshly Picked bags have crossbody and backpack straps which make them incredibly versatile.
If you have been following me for awhile, you will remember my post about turning any purse into a diaper bay with ToteSavvy. I can't live without my ToteSavvy inserts. I have both the small and the larger size and I use them both all of the time. Each insert comes with a changing pad and an insulated pocket. I use the small insert with the Fawn Design diaper bag. It is small but mighty. I can fit diapers, wipes, a bottle, formula packets, a blanket, toys and an extra outfit in it. That is incredible! This insert is definitely a mommy must have. They just came out with two new colors and I loving the blush!
What's In My Diaper Bag | Clear Plastic Bags
I was recently turned onto using clear plastic bags in my purse to help with organization. This has been a total game changer. When deciding which bags to use, I went with Truffle Co . These bags are definitely more expensive but I think they are worth every penny. I did wait until they were having a sale before I bought them. They wear well and they don't pick up dirt or finger prints. You can buy a cleaner from Truffle if you do find you need to clean your bags. In addition to the bags I have shown here, I also have the jetset case and the tech clutch. I love using them for traveling.
The floral bag I bought on a whim at the beach. I keep my medications, inhaler and a first aid kit in it. I like that it wasn't 100% see through because I keep medications in it and I didn't want everyone and their mom to see what was in the bag. But I still know exactly what is in it. It was MUCH cheaper than the Truffle Co bags but it is holding up really well. I have been seeing a lot of bags like this so you can easily find them and not spend a fortune on them.
Using clear bags allows me to put more stuff in my bag as well as keeping it all organized. I really like keeping each pouch dedicated to a specific set of items: tech, cleaning products & lipstick. It makes it easy for someone else to go into my diaper bag and get what I need. The one thing that I always make sure I have with me is my power bank. This thing is AMAZING. I can get 9-10 charges out of it before having to recharge it. It is lightweight and slim so it doesn't take up a lot of room. And it is cheap.
What's In My Diaper Bag | Bigger Wallets, More Utility
I used to carry the smallest wallet possible. Then I found this wallet. It is a travel wallet that is harder to find but it is usually included in surprise sales. This wallet is very similar to mine and currently available. It is definitely one of the largest wallets I have ever used. But it holds everything. Including a boarding pass, passport and my phone. My theory is the more I can put into a wallet, the less room I take up by adding another organizer.
The second wallet I use as a business card holder. I use to have 4 separate business card holders and I was always leaving one in another bag or losing one in the bottom of a bag. So I finally decided to find a wallet that would hold everything. It was the best decision I could have made. I can now find everything I need in one place and while it is a little balky, it is effective.
What's In My Diaper Bag | Getting the Job Done
At the end of the day, I need my bag to be organized with easy access to the stuff both Jackie and I need. I feel like with the system I have shared with you, I have that. A lot of the items I have shared a bit more expensive than I would usually spend on things but they help make my life easier.
