Virginia: Marriott Ranch
A few weeks ago we went to the Marriott Ranch in Hume, Virginia for a Open House for event planners. The ranch holds this event every year to drum up interest for the ranch hosting different kinds of events. This year they are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the house at Fairfield Farm (yes that is where the Marriott Fairfield Inn name comes from). So we went inside the house and looked around. There are seven bedrooms, including the three outside in the carriage house, that can be used as a bed & breakfast type hotel. I was surprised how spacious all of the rooms were and that each one had it's own bathroom!
We took my youngest cousin with us so she could experience all of the fun things that were there. She is my little buddy and we always have so much fun together! There was a petting zoo, pony rides, a rock wall, a bouncy house and a lot more for my cousin to enjoy. She was a bit freaked out by the animals but she was happy to sit and watch the animals while I held her! Then we went on a hay ride and were able to see more of the ranch. It has been such a beautiful summer, so everything has been very green this year. It turned out to be a beautiful day to be at the ranch and we had a lot of fun learning about the vendors and meeting other event planners. I really enjoy this event and look forward to going back next year!
