The New Apartment
The New Apartment | Moving To Bigger Spaces
If you missed it, we moved apartments! We had been living in a one bedroom, one bathroom with a den. Our little space was perfect for us when we first moved in and we didn't seem to need more space. A few weeks ago, we got an email from our apartment's leasing office saying they were offering discounted rates for two bedroom apartments for the rest of the month. We decided we would look at what 2 bedrooms were available and what they cost before we committed to moving. After looking at a few places, we found one that was perfect for us. And it was only $200 a month more than we were currently paying. Jackie would have her own bedroom (with a solid door instead of slated doors) and her own bathroom. Our living space would be much bigger and The Husband and I would have a larger room and our own bathroom. It was a no brainer. Especially since we went from 856 square feet to 1,179 square feet!
The New Apartment | The Process
We signed our lease and had to move before the end of December. So we only had a few weeks to get ready. We only moved down the hall on the same floor so I did minimal packing. The day of the move we used our collapsible wagon, a luggage cart and ourselves to move everything over. It was weird to move like this but it was easier to unpack and get settled since there weren't any boxes! My friend Emma came to help and we got it all done in two days!
The New Apartment | What Has Changed
Honestly, we tried not to buy more furniture or change too much of what we have. We actually got rid of or swapped a few pieces of furniture so everything would flow better. Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing a before and after of each room so you can see the difference between the old space and the new space!
