Minnie Mouse Themed Name DIY
Minnie Mouse Themed Name DIY | Breezing Through
When I started looking at ideas on Pinterest and Etsy for Jackie's birthday party, I felt a little overwhelmed to be honest. There were so many ideas and over the top examples to use. I came across a lot of really cute name signs and age signs. I'm usually all about reducing the number of things I have to do so I can focus on the things that matter. I'm happy to pay for someone else to do something for me, many people refer to this as a convenience tax.
I do however, also like to get craft every so often. If you're been following this blog for awhile, you may remember the wreaths I made, the furniture I redid and a few of the other similar projects I have taken on. I decided that I wanted to create a custom name sign for Jackie that went with the theme of her birthday party and looked exactly the way I wanted it to! Today I'm sharing how I made it so you can do the same! I've also gathered up some great options that you can buy as well!

Minnie Mouse Themed Name DIY | Steps
- Decide which color each letter will be painted. I wanted both a pink and a gold glitter letter so I needed to make sure that it worked with the number of letters I was doing and how it looked all together.
- I painted all of the non glitter letters first. I did one coat on each letter and then placed the letters on the cardboard to dry.
- While the non glitter letters were drying, I think painted the glitter letters with the first coat of glitter finish mod Podge and then dumped the glitter onto the letter. I used my fingers to spread the glitter around so that the letter was covered in glitter.
- Once the first coat of the regular letters were dry, I added a second coat
- Once the first coat of the glitter letters were dry, I added a layer of glitter finish mod podge to seal that first layer of glitter
- I then put a third coat of paint to the non glitter letters
- Repeat steps 3 and 5 on the glitter letters
- Once third coat of paint was dry on the non glitter letters, I coated them in the matte mod podge.
- Once that coat of mod podge was dry, I used the mod podge to attach the Minnie Mouse cut outs to the "I". I then put another coat of mod podge on top.
I love how this name sign came out! I plan on using it for Jackie's birthday party but I couldn't wait to hang it in her room. Jackie likes to stand in her doorway and point at it. I'm hoping it will help her recognize letters!
