LOVESAC Sactional Review | Why We Got A New Couch
Our new couch is here! I have been showing sneak peeks of this process on my Instagram stories and I have been looking at this couch for a year.
We have had old hand-me-down couches since we needed furniture. Which was the smart thing to do. But after having Jackie, I discovered that the couches we had just were not cutting it. Jackie has gone through a few phases where she has wanted me to sleep on the couch with her. Either when she was sick or when she was going through a sleep regression. Since she is bigger than the typical kid, this was usually really uncomfortable.
LOVESAC Sactional Review | What I Wanted
I decided it was time to buy a new couch. This couch would replace both of the old couches so I wanted something bigger. I also wanted something that was easy to move. One of the old couches was a pull out from the 80s and it was the heaviest piece of furniture ever. After moving that three times, I didn't want something like that again. Another criteria was that it was modular. I love the idea of something I can rearrange based on what is going on. And then I needed fabric that was going to stand up to a very active child. Something machine washable was my preference.
LOVESAC Sactional Review | What We Decided On
After doing a lot of research, the couch that fit the best was the LoveSac Sactional. I discovered this couch last year and fell in love with the entire concept. I could decide how big I wanted it, the color and the fabric. And the ENTIRE thing is machine washable. How do you beat that!? So I waited. Spending a lot of money on a couch was just not in the budget at the time. I like to bide my time anyway and find a good deal.
There is a LoveSac store close to us and I went to look at it several times. I wanted to be sure before I committed. Then, a few weeks ago, we went to pick out the color and fabric. I was so excited! I had measured the space and I knew how many pieces we were going to get but just needed to make those final few decisions. The sales manager, Doug, was amazing. I didn't feel like he was pushing me into anything and he was excited I had already done all of my research. After looking at lots of swatches, I decided on the Padded Velvet in taupe. It is one of the most durable fabrics they have and is so soft! I ordered the couch during the 4th of July sale so I was able to Reveal A Deal and I got an extra 25% off my entire purchase! That was a huge help because I decided to get one more seat and one more side than I had originally planned on.
I also decided to get a few accessories. Due to the size of the couch, we were going to lose our end tables. I knew we would need something to replace those because The Husband loves them. The seat table was fascinating to me because it can be moved around depending on where you want it. It can be on an ottoman or in the middle of the couch!
LOVESAC Sactional Review | Why I Love It
We typically have it set up like the very first sets of pictures. Where the extra side is connected to the inside corner so it creates more of a deep, almost bed, space. We love this set up. It allows all three of us to lay out on the couch together. Since we have the table and the cup holders that move around, we can have snacks on the couch and they don't spill everywhere.
It is so incredibly easy to move from one configuration to another. You can see from the pictures that I did move the pieces when I changed the couch around. And The Husband was at work so this was 100% me. It honestly takes less than 5 minutes to change the pieces around which is why I love this couch so much. The couch can change based on what we are doing, who is visiting or later on, in a new home. It was definitely an investment but we saved for it and it is something we will use for years to come!
