Jackie's LadyBug Picnic 1st Birthday Party | Party Theme

We had so much fun doing this party! My aunt is amazing at kid's birthday parties, I promise I am trying to convince her to go into business. I asked her back in November, before we knew about my surgery, if she wanted to help with Jackie's party. She was so excited, she already had tons of ideas. After throwing some ideas around, we settled on a Lady Bug Picnic theme. I found the cutest party pack on Etsy that was perfect for the theme. It was a set for 16, so I ended up getting two. We had leftovers but I think leftovers are better than not having enough.

I bought an extra set of table clothes so that we had a little bit of variety. I loved how they made the tables look. My aunt rolled up the silverware in the matching napkins and tied them with twine. They were darling! The party pack came with a bunch of balloons. So I got a helium tank from Target and filled a bunch of them up.

Jackie's LadyBug Picnic 1st Birthday Party | Food

My aunt made the cupcakes, aren't they darling? She spent a lot of time figuring out what was best for the polka dots and decided on black frosting in the end. She tried chocolate chips but she said they came out too brown.

I have been trying to find someone in the area that would do pretty cookies for me for awhile. I wanted them for a Maskcara party I did in December but the person I was working with had to back out. I tried them again for Jackie's party and they backed out again last minute. Obviously I was not thrilled with that. So I found Crissy at My Cookie Hobby. With not even 2 weeks notice, she was able to fit me in and create exactly what I wanted. They went perfectly with the decorations and I am told they were pretty good (they were not gluten free). If you are looking for someone to create stunning, one of a kind cookies for you, Crissy is the best!

I went with beef sandwiches for dinner. I got the rolls at our local Lidl along with the meat, fresh fruit and chips for sides. It ended up being an easy meal and everyone loved it!

Jackie's LadyBug Picnic 1st Birthday Party | Family

We loved having The Husband's mom here for Jackie's party. While we missed his dad, it was so  fun to have 3 of Jackie's 4 grandparents there. We also got some pictures with my aunt and her cute youngest girls who were tons of help with the party.

Since Jackie was only turning one, we decided to only invite family. We had about 20 people with just family there, I can't imagine what it would have been like if we invited friends too!
