How To Buy Inexpensive Canvases for Your Home | Canvas Prints

One of my favorite ways of keeping memories is having pictures in our home. There are photo books, framed pictures and canvases everywhere. You all know by now that I love a gallery wall and tend to have some printed canvases included in those as well. But canvases can be expensive and the inexpensive ones can be cheap looking or take forever to get to you. So today, I want to talk about how I find expensive canvases for our home including which sites to trust and how to ensure you have a good quality print.

How To Buy Inexpensive Canvases for Your Home | Where to Start

For me, I always start at Groupon. I have been buying canvases through them for years and I have never had a bad experience. I have even gifted some of the ones I have bought through Groupon, so you know that they have to be good. If this still makes you a little worried, we have also had some success printing canvases at Costco!

When you open up Groupon, type canvas into the search bar. This will bring up a bunch of canvas options online that you can buy from. Unlike other Groupons, they are not specific to your area because they are online! But how do you decide which ones to buy and which company to buy from? After 7 years of testing that, I can give you some tips.

How To Buy Inexpensive Canvases for Your Home | Who to Trust

I have been buying canvases through Groupon since The Husband and I got married. We were young, he was in law school and we had very little money but I wanted a few canvases from our wedding to hang in our apartment. So after discovering I could buy them through Groupon, I was able to try out a few different companies. Since then, I have had family pictures, Christmas gifts, and gallery wall photos done, without any issues.

When you type Canvas into Groupon, you end up with a lot of results. From my experience, Canvas on Demand and CanvasOnSale are the best companies to buy from. Even with those companies, be careful that you are picking the correct quantity and size that you want. If you aren't sure, measure out the size you want or the size you have picked to see where it will fit and how it will work in your space!

Once you have found the correct size and amount of canvases you want to buy, the rest is fairly simple if you have done it before. If not, here is a quick guide on how to do it!

Pick and pay for the canvas(es) from the printer of your choice. Be sure to see if shipping is included in your Groupon cost or not. If not, this is usually $15, which is low considering the cost of the canvas. Once you have paid, you can go to your Groupons and click on the canvas voucher. There will be specific directions of the printer you chose on that voucher, including the specific URL to go to and what code to put in at check out. Follow those directions EXACTLY to ensure you don't have additional costs. When you are uploading the image you want printed, make sure it is a HIGH RESOLUTION image. Most of these websites will tell you if the image isn't a high enough resolution for the size of the print but you need to set your expectations. If you are trying to print a large canvas of a picture you took on a camera 5 years ago, it is just not going to look that great. Think about a different image or a smaller canvas!

Once you have decided on the canvas edges, backing and frame, you should be good to check out. You will usually have to pay for shipping but like I said before, this is much cheaper than buying a canvas full price! I usually have the canvases in hand in hanging on my walls in 2 weeks!
