Halloween in Argentina

Halloween is just not as big of a deal in Argentina as it is in the States. There isn't a whole lot of Halloween stuff out, and no one really goes trick or treating. We tried to make it as festive as we could by making some Halloween decorations for our apartment as a fun activity to do with the kids, but for the most part it was a pretty mellow time. Along with the Halloween decorations we made, I found really cute Halloween plates, cups and napkins I planned to use for a Halloween party we decided to throw for our friends here in Buenos Aires. I got them with that intention, but my husband reminded me the party venue had all the things we needed for the party. I didn't end up using them for that but we used them through the month of October to keep the Halloween theme going for the kids.

For the Halloween party for friends here in Buenos Aires, we found a local play place and reserved a night on the week of Halloween. My mom brought 3 bags of American candy for us to give to all of the kids at the party when she came, because I thought it would be fun to share some of the candy we would have at home for Halloween. Instead of just passing it out, I got little purple and green bags and put 3-4 pieces of candy in each bag and then stapled them shut. Considering my 19-month-old son, along with other small children, were going to be there, I thought this was better than just having candy out for everyone to get.

We booked our party at Seville Mania, which is a play place you can book for birthday parties or other events. They have a really nice parent seating area and a great place for kids to have snacks and pizza that's provided. Apparently the one we went to was one of their smaller locations, but it totally suited our needs. They had tons of stuff for kids of all ages including the little ones. My little one loved the cars, but there was also a giant blow up area that had a zip line for part of the party, which was hugely popular, especially with my daughter.

The party wrapped up with a bubble dance party, which was really great especially for my daughter. She was having a hard time with the party wrapping up, but the bubble party was a really great thing to end the night. We told all the kids they could come in costumes and almost everybody did!

Everyone that came had a really good time. It was fun to introduce our Halloween traditions to them. This was definitely not exactly like Halloween at home in Tennessee, but it was still a really fun way to have Halloween here in Buenos Aires.
