Easy Holiday Gift Bags | Why You May Need Them
So you probably don't NEED holiday gift bags but you may want to have a few on hand over the next month or so for a number of reasons. There may be a neighbor or someone from church or moms' group that you want to drop a little something off to. You may be invited to a holiday party gift exchange and you're not sure what to bring. Enter one of these holiday gift bags.
When I am creating these bags to have on hand, I like to do it in bulk. So I make between 4 and 6 depending on what my plans for the season are. I always end up using all of them, so I don't have to worry about having any left overs. Creating these in bulk makes the process a lot easier and faster so I would highly recommend that over building them one at a time.
Easy Holiday Gift Bags | What Kind of Bag to Use
I like to use a bag that the recipient can actually reuse, instead of a paper gift bag. They are less wasteful and they tend to make the entire gift look more put together. And if the recipient doesn't use it as a purse, they can use it as a grocery bag, a work bag or even gift it to someone else!
I found these bags in the Dollar Spot at Target and thought they were adorable. These have popped up in the Dollar Spot over the last two years so I know they aren't unique to just this year. There is also a pouch that you could get instead of the larger bag. I did also see a felt/flannel version of this same bag and the pouches that would work as well. You can find similar bags at pretty much any store. I have seen them online at Old Navy and H&M as well. I linked those below.
Easy Holiday Gift Bags | What To Put Inside
So what do you put inside, especially if you are doing more than one bag at a time. I found most of the contents for these bags in the Dollar Spot at Target. I linked similar items at the bottom of the post. You could also find fun things at a number of other stores and a lot of the items I linked below are on sale.
I like to put items in the bag that the recipient can use themselves that they might not necessarily buy. But they are also centered around self care and pampering. Because who doesn't love a good bath salt or a nice smelling candle? You could also do fuzzy socks, hat, or scarf. All of which you can get for fairly inexpensive.
I like to put an ornament in the bag to tie to back to the holidays. I always go with something that isn't breakable but fairly neutral because everyone has different taste! These fluffy snowflake ornaments were the perfect ornament addition for this year's bag.
