5 Things I Miss About Living in the US

After being settled in Argentina, I can go on and on about the amazing things the country has to offer. However, there are definitely things I miss about the US. Here are five things I miss about living in the US.

5 Things I Miss About Living in the US | 1-Amazon

When we first arrived in Argentina and needed hangers, we had trouble finding them locally. Contrary to public belief, Amazon is not available all over the world. It is available in certain countries in English and then in other countries in other languages. However, Argentina isn't on the list. I looked into how much it would cost to ship hangers to us from US Amazon and it was prohibitively expensive. Too much money just for hangers. There are local sites similar to Amazon, but you have to have your local ID for that. Thank goodness we finally got ours so hopefully we can get things a little easier.

5 Things I Miss About Living in the US | 2-Our Bed

Oh, how I miss our bed! At home in Tennessee, I custom built a bed frame and a headboard. We absolutely love our 15 inch foam mattress. We each have our own duvets because, after about eight years of marriage, we moved into this house and we discovered it was actually a really beneficial thing for both of us to each have our own blanket. While I did bring our pillows here with us, I didn't bring all of them. Not to mention, in Argentina we're in a queen size bed here, instead of our king sized bed at home. Overall, the whole thing is just not as comfortable as our bed at home.

5 Things I Miss About Living in the US | 3-Our LoveSac Couch

Our couch, AKA the nest is seriously missed. I worked with LoveSac to create this haven for us and we became very attached to it. All of us can lay down on the couch and not touch each other, which is amazing. There's tons of space where our couch here is not very big. Also, my daughter likes to have all of her stuffed animals on it at the same time, leaving no room for anyone else so that's been a little bit of a problem.

5 Things I Miss About Living in the US | 4-Dawn Power Wash

This may seem silly, but this is something I definitely took for granted. I'm realizing I used Dawn Powerwash for EVERYTHING at home. From washing dishes to cleaning a project to laundry stains, it was absolutely my go-to. I cannot tell you how many different kinds of stains I have gotten out with Dawn Power Wash, it is just incredible. The fact I can't find it here has been a bit of a bummer, even more so because baby brother is VERY into making messes right now. If you have any suggestions for getting stains out of clothes that I could possibly find here that would be wonderful!

5 Things I Miss About Living in the US | 5- Our Shower

Lastly, I miss our shower. I am a little surprised by this one, because our one here isn't horrible, but it still isn't cutting it. We have a very large walk in shower in Tennessee with no tub to it, and I love the water pressure. Here in Buenos Aires, we have a bathtub shower with half a glass wall, and the water pressure is terrible! I can't wait to get home to my spacious shower!

I'm sure there are a few more things that will come up the longer we are here, but for now we are dealing with these minor inconveniences and really are loving it!
