Why We Love Our LoveSac Couch

Let's clean out my couch and talk about why we are still obsessed with it years later. It's been over a year since I did a full couch clean out and considering we spend a lot of time here, it definitely needs to be cleaned. I know a lot of people saw the video on social media of the comedian who ordered a LoveSac couch, and it came in all the boxes, and then he struggled to put it all together, at one point needing gloves to protect his hands. He questioned why such an expensive couch came in so many pieces and required the person who bought it to put it together themselves. Considering this is our second LoveSac couch, I wanted to give my perspective on this.

We bought our first LoveSac couch in 2019. It came with five bottom pieces and six arm pieces We put it in our medium-sized apartment in one configuration to start. When we moved from Virginia to Tennessee, it was put into a different room that had a different layout, and we were able to change the setup of the couch again. One of LoveSac's biggest selling features is they're modular so you can change the layout to fit your space.

We changed it around a few more times and then when I was pregnant with our son, the room the couch lived in was turning into the nursery so we changed it again to accommodate that. I was able to take the entire couch apart, take all of the covers off of the entire couch, wash them and put them all back on. I was able to do all of it at seven months pregnant. I don't know of any other couches that could do that.

Since then, that couch has been broken up into multiple pieces we have been able to utilize all through the house. One of the bottom pieces and an arm are still up in my son's room. Two of the bottom pieces and two of the arm pieces are at the end of mine and my husband's bed and two of the bottom pieces and three of the arm pieces are in my daughter's room as a reading chair.

In 2023, before I delivered my son, I did a collaboration with LoveSac, and they sent us a new couch that we nicknamed “the Nest” and put in our main living area. It is my favorite piece of furniture in the entire house. We spend a ton of time here together as a family. I'm now in a phase of my life where I'm a bit out of shape after some health issues and I'm still able to deconstruct it to clean it myself. The point of this couch coming in so many boxes originally with all of the pieces is so it's convenient for you to maintain later. I'd also like to point out I've never felt the need to wear gloves while taking apart, putting together, or moving my couch.

Normally a deep clean of "The Nest" is a two-day project for me, only because when you wash the covers on this couch, you really should let them air-dry. It took me about two and a half hours to take the whole thing apart, get all the cushions and covers off, take all of the pieces out, clean everything, and put it back together with the "help" of our three-year-old. After the covers were washed and dried, it only took me about 20 minutes to reassemble the eight bottom cushions, four back cushions, and four of the arm pieces. So I know that the viral comedian was being funny, but I will stand on principle that our LoveSac couch is worth ALL of the time and money it takes. After 2 couches and 7 years of daily use, we love our LoveSac couches more and more. If you want to make the investment, take it form me, its worth it!

Obviously, this kind of couch is not going to be the best option for everyone, which is why there are so many different kinds of couches out there. I just wanted to highlight all of the reasons why we love our LoveSac couches SO MUCH. Yes, they are investment pieces. They're definitely on the more expensive side for couches. We took the time to really save for our original couch and I love that I had the option to get a base configuration I wanted with the option of adding more pieces when we needed or could afford more.
