What I Have Learned After 2 Years of Blogging & A Giveaway!

Giveaway | Breezing Through-1

I can't believe I have been blogging for two years now! I wanted to share with you some of the things I have learned about blogging over the last two years since I have learned a lot...also if you make it to the end of the post there is an AMAZING giveaway I am incredibly excited about!

It is ok not to post everyday.

After about a year of trying to post every single day (with school, work and moving several times), I decided that I was going to provide better content if I only posted 3 days a week. So for the last year, I have been posting Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have jumped back into posting every day though, with main content on Monday, Wednesday & Friday and sale alerts on Tuesday & Thursday. We will see how long I can keep that up!

Good content means everything.

This goes back to not posting everyday. Make sure you have content that people are willing to read, both sponsored and original. If you are an expert on something, make sure you write about it!

Schedule out your posts ahead of time.

Whenever I can, I try to have at least a month worth of posts scheduled. I don't have to worry about what I will be posting about while I am on a trip and I can even move things around if I need to. It also allows me to make sure I love what I am going to post.

In order to get something out of it, you have to put something into it.

This can be taken in so many ways, and as a blogger I heard it a lot. But it is true. The more time, money, energy you put into your blog the more you will get out of it. Once I was able to actually fully focus on my blog, I started to make money on it! I also started watching webinars and joined a few blogging communities and I have seen my blog and following really expand.

Having a good theme is key.

If you have been around long enough, you remember my old layout. It wasn't terrible, just not clean and very "new blogger"ish. It was easy to navigate but I never loved it. I could never put my finger on what it was about it - aside from the fact that it was a pre-made Wordpress theme- but I finally decided it was time for a change.

After I was done with school in May, I upgraded to the beautiful layout you are experiencing now from Eclair Design. I chose the Blake theme and I also opted to have Eclair Design install it for me. For a little more money, I didn't have to worry about anything going wrong! I love how it turned out and I think it will be awhile before I make any more changes.

Listen to people who know what they are talking about and use their resources.

One of my favorites is Helene from Helene in Between. She does some amazing stuff and is all about you growing your blog. You can check out her free E-Course: How to Build A Successful blog here.
