Virginia: Peach Picking
So this week I am going to divert a little from the usual routine and talk about being a local tourist. I have lived in Northern Virginia my entire life and I have done some traveling up and down the East Coast every year that I can remember. There are so many places to visit with so much history, all within driving distance. So I am going to share a few of the places I have been in the last year!A few weeks ago we went hunting to find a place to pick peaches in Virginia before the season ended. We drove about an hour away and found this beautiful farm where you can pick all of your own fruits and veggies. But we got there about 15 minutes before they closed so we didn't have time to pick any peaches. But we did pick some veggies! We took my 5 year old cousin with us and she loved hunting for veggies to pick. She kept telling me how she didn't like tomatoes but she wanted to pick some for her daddy! Since we were determined to get peaches, we found another farm a little bit down the road. The owner was willing to pick a bunch of peaches for us while we went and got gas. When we got back there was a beautiful rooster hanging out in front of the peaches. The peaches were so ripe, you could smell them just a few feet away. They smelled amazing and it was so fun to find a place to get peaches at the end of the season! Have you ever picked your own fruits or veggies?
