UAE: Desert Trip

On Our last day in Dubai we were taken out into the desert to experience one of the desert trips. You know the ones that you are a,ways seeing celebrities posting on Instagram about? We were driven out to the desert i white Range Rovers. As we got further away from Dubai, then sand became red. There was a lot more vegetation than I was expecting. We arrived at a small grocery/souvenir shop where we were told that it was the last place there was a real bathroom for the rest of the day. After a brief stop, we got back in the cars and started into the dunne bashing part of the adventure. Sadly, I get pretty car sick, so I opted to be in the "calmer" car. We still had a lot of fun though!We eventually stopped, in the middle of no where, and gathered for lunch. A beautiful rug had been placed on the sand so we could sit. A flacouner and his birds were our lunch entertainment. Flaucons are a big deal in the UAE, and there are a lot of emirates that are competitive Flauconers. The birds were very well trained and I even got to have one sit on my hand. I was clearly scared to death the entire time.I am in awe of the strange beauty of the reddish desert. I loved the shots I was able to get and played around with my camera a bit. Our return back to the US was as comfortable as our way to the UAE,Etihad  Airways is the best!This was such an incredible trip that packed so many unique and amazing experiences into only 5 days. I would love to spend more time in the UAE, hopefully another event there is on the horizon!
