Travel Buddies
Yesterday I talked about how to stay safe when traveling, and I mentioned having a travel buddy. Today I wanted to talk a bit more about that. Get ready for a lot of 1990s pictures from my childhood! For as long as I can remember I have had a travel buddy. The person has changed over the years but the position has always been there. It's something my mom started when we were little. She always dresses us alike and made us travel in pairs. We complained a lot about it at the time, but now that I am older, I am so glad she did it.
If you follow me on Insta, you will recognize this picture from last week!
Over time, it become less about matching and more about having someone who could keep an eye out for us. Sometimes it was someone older, but most of the time it was just one of my brothers. A travel buddy makes sure you stay with the rest of the group or that when you separate from the group, you don't get lost. A travel buddy makes sure you check in with someone at some point during the day. A travel buddy keeps an eye out for pick pockets or anything dangerous. And a travel buddy is always great for picture taking and fun memories!
