Summer Tile Mat Ideas

DIY

The seasons are changing, it's getting warmer, and the cicadas are coming out here in Tennessee which means it's time for new tile mat designs. I have this tile mat from Letterfolk that I love to create designs for and share them with all of you. I typically like to share a lot of really elaborate designs when I share different seasonal and holiday designs. This summer, though, I'm going a little bit more simple with the designs. There is a very elaborate one at the very end, so stick around for that but, for the most part, these are gonna be pretty mellow because that's all I have the capacity for. My family is going to Argentina from June to December so I'm trying to juggle all of things, including getting content ready for while I'm gone, prepping the house and packing.

Summer Tile Mat Ideas | Daisies

There's a design tool on the Letter Folk website you can use to create your designs and I always have a fun time creating new ones. It gives you an idea of how many tiles you're going to need, but it also gives you an idea where to place everything which I really like. For this first design, I focused on daisies because they are my favorite flower. Now that I have the Carnation Pink color, I can really do these pretty daisies that I absolutely love. I used 57 Fog, 48 Carnation pink and 46 Sunflower tiles.

Summer Tile Mat Ideas | Polka dots

I thought this polka dot design was really cute. It's super simple and you could do it with pretty much any color. I personally like it with the black and white because it's very classic this way. This used 64 of the Fog tiles only.

Summer Tile Mat Ideas | Stripes

This second design is a set of lines. Again, super simple and doesn't take a lot of time. I used  50 Fog, 50 Sunflower, 50 Mistletoe and 50 Tropical Teal tiles, but you could be creative and do it in almost any color combination and it would be cute.

Summer Tile Mat Ideas | Americana

I decided to do a patriotic design for 4th of July and Memorial Day with red, white, and blue flowers. I did a version of this last year, but I actually like this version better. I think it turned out way cuter and I liked using the blue as the center for the white flowers. I love that it's a really fun 4th of July theme you could use for the entire summer. I used 88 Fog, 66 Cinnamon and 77 Ocean Blue tiles for this design.

Summer Tile Mat Ideas | Gradient Floral

When I did the spring tile mat designs, I did a version of this flower design where I cover the entire mat with flowers and I LOVED it. I wanted to up my game a little bit with this next one and be more intentional with the colors and do more of a color gradient not necessarily for the whole mat, but for each line of flowers. I really like how this turned out! In the future I'm going to try it again while making the flowers more even, but for now I love it. For this design I used 78 Fog, 22 Atlantic Blue, 26 Evergreen 22 Cinnamon, 34 Sugar Plum, 32 Lilac, 17 Carnation Pink, 18 Sunflower, 20 Wild Plum, 15 Rose Gold, 15 Pink Glitter, 12 Gold Glitter, 18 Aqua Lagoon, 13 Cherry Blossom, 33 Mistletoe 18 Tropical Teal, 19 Gold, 18 Teal Glitter, 23 Raspberry Sorbet, 18 Sand Castle, 20 Glacial Blue, 24 Holly Berry, and 28 Spring Green tiles.
