Montepulciano
Montepulciano is a one of Tuscany’s most famous medieval hill top towns. It is in Southern Italy not far from Siena.
I learned about Italian Pottery from a wonderful shopkeeper in Montepulciano. More there than anywhere else on my entire trip in Italy.
For example, many towns have their own pottery design. Some designers work directly with shopkeepers like the one in Montepulciano. This shopkeeper had such a lovely display of pottery that he commissioned.
The pottery can only be found in the small hill top town. If you don’t buy it there, you cannot buy it anywhere else.
There is so much more to Montepulciano than beautiful scenic overlooks and pottery.
Such beauty everywhere. And so many places to shop.
After all of our hill top town visits, Montepulciano was our all time favorite. But a word of caution, wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk, a lot.
