How to Find the Perfect Sea Shells
After spending the last almost two weeks at different beaches I have realized I have never talked about how I find some of these perfect shells! And I get that question a lot. So here it goes:
- Go looking at low tide. High tide has dumped a bunch of shells further up the beach and they are much easier to find without water in the way.
- Utilize the trash line. This is the where high tide was last and lots of shells are left in this area.
- Look at the surf line, which is where the water breaks on the sand. There are usually bigger shells there so you might have to go digging. Most people don't look here since they are often looking along the Trash Line.
- Take advantage of tidal pools. Very often, large shells get caught in tidal pools and most people miss these. Hopefully these tips will be helpful! I found some pretty amazing shells following these rules. I am working on a few jars full of shells that I will show you after we move into our new place. I am excited for a nautical themed living room!
