How I Prep for Overnight Guests | Overnight Guests

It's funny, we are all of a sudden having a lot of overnight guests this year. The Husband says it is because we are living in a 2 bedroom apartment again but we have lived in a 2 bedroom before. It is just one of those years I guess. I am really excited about all of our visitors this year though! Since we do have 2 bedrooms and one of them is Jackie's, turning it into a guest room is a little tricky. So I wanted to share with you how I prep for overnight guests!

How I Prep for Overnight Guests | Bedding

In 2014, The Husband did an internship at with the Denny's legal department in South Carolina. We kept our apartment at law school and rented a place for 12 weeks during the summer. We didn't want to have to take our mattress all the way down there and back so we bought a really nice queen sized inflatable mattress. It was the height of a normal bed and it even had an attached inflatable head board. Fast forward 5 years and it is still in really great shape! I love that when we aren't using it, it is in Jackie's closet and I don't worry about it.

I keep extra bedding for whoever is coming to visit. We have lots of blankets and pillows so it's not hard to keep them around. Target has pretty nice pillows for $4 that you can shop in the widget at the bottom of the post! I always make sure to pile on the blankets because our apartment can get cold!

How I Prep for Overnight Guests | Bathroom

This is Jackie's bathroom but she is too young to care about sharing it with guests! I make sure they have their own clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and then extra razors, toothbrushes, and toothpaste in case they forget to bring those. It is nice to have everything laid out so our guests know what is for them to use and they don't have to wonder if the towels are clean!

How I Prep for Overnight Guests | Where Jackie Sleeps

Since our guests stay in Jackie's room, she has to sleep somewhere else. We spent a little time trying to figure out the best place for her. We have a decent sized closet that her pack and play fits in perfectly. It is right by out bed but we still have privacy and we don't need to worry about waking her up if we need to go to the bathroom. There is also an outlet right outside our closet door so we can plug in her sound machine and music. The only thing Jackie doesn't like is not being able to hide in the closet when she isn't sleeping.
