Favorite Baby Products for the First Year

Baby brother is 1 year old now, can you believe it? After a year of using baby products, I definitely have a list of favorites I wanted to share with you! As a reminder, you do not need any of these things. For us, some of these items were hand-me-downs or gifted to me because of what I do on social media. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using second hand baby items, and I encourage that whenever possible. Let's get started!

Favorite Baby Products for the First Year | Uppababy Vista/Mesa

First up is the Uppababy Vista and Mesa system. I bought this stroller on Black Friday in 2016 when it was on a really good sale. I was pregnant with our oldest and bought this with the intention of it being the stroller we used for all of our kids, which is something we've been able to do. The same thing has been true with the Mesa car seat. The car seat did expire right as he was growing out of it, so it worked out perfectly for us. I also got the snuggle seat for the rumble seat for the stroller because our son outgrew the bassinet, but he was still a little too small for rumble seat by itself. He's absolutely loved it. Our daughter absolutely loved it. I highly, highly recommend this entire system!

Favorite Baby Products for the First Year | Baby Delight Snuggle Nest

Next up is the Baby Delight Snuggle Nest. This is basically just a foldable and portable bassinet you can take anywhere with you. You can use it as changing pad or you can use it as a place for supervised nap time. We absolutely love this. We use this from when baby was a tiny newborn until he started rolling. He's a pretty big baby, so he outgrew it a little sooner than I would have liked, but I definitely recommend this one as well. It was absolutely awesome.

Favorite Baby Products for the First Year | Orible Convertible Activity Center

I was scouring the internet for something I could use for an activity center for the baby. I saw this one and immediately fell in love with it because 1) the legs fold making it really easy to store, 2) the legs extend so you can change the height of it and 3) it changes into a play table with stools. This is great if you have a smaller space, like we do, with not a lot of storage space. Also this is great if you are looking for something you can use for years and years to come, which is personally something I always look for when I am buying a baby product. I like to be able to use things long term and not have to just get rid of it within the first year.

Favorite Baby Products for the First Year | Tush Baby

I've talked about the Tush Baby before. This has been a game changer for us. Baby brother loves his stroller, but sometimes strollers just aren't going to work. For example, there is an attraction in our city you can't take a stroller into at all and we go there a lot. The Tush Baby is basically like a support for a bigger baby/toddler that takes the weight from your hips and it is a diaper bag all in one as well which I love! There are places for your keys, phone, diapers, wipes, toys, etc. We use it weekly, if not daily and it has made school drop offs so much easier. I now have a relationship with Tush Baby so if you use my link, you get a discount code and I get a commission on that!

Favorite Baby Products for the First Year | Peg Perego Siesta Highchair

Next on the list is the Peg Perego Siesta Highchair. Full transparency, this is like a $300+ highchair, but we got it as a hand-me-down from a good friend. Baby brother is, I think, the 12th or 13th child that has used this highchair. I ended up buying a new liner for the seat since the one it came with was not in the best shape because it had seen so many kids. Regardless, I would definitely recommend this one if you can get it secondhand. I don't know if I would necessarily buy it brand new, but it is a really good highchair that grows with baby.

Favorite Baby Products for the First Year | Angel Care Bathtub Seat

We absolutely love the Angel Care Bathtub Seat. We used it with my daughter and now with baby brother. It's awesome because the water comes up through the mesh on the bottom. Obviously, you're going to supervise your baby the entire time they're in the bathtub, so if they start to be able to push off the bottom of the tub and flip themselves over, its time take them out of it. However, the really cool thing is that you can flip it over and push the mesh down and as a seat for them when they are able to sit up.

Favorite Baby Products for the First Year | Baby Brezza

The Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced is an absolute game changer for formula fed little ones. It makes formula at the touch of a button, but you do have to set it to the correct settings for the formula you're using and insure that it is cleaned often. We personally found it was really great for our family and our situation. I did have a lot of people that responded pretty negatively when I posted about this the last time, so use this at your discretion. If you have a child that is struggling to get enough food and you're relying on formula you need to measure exactly, then maybe it isn't for you. Consult with your pediatrician about what is best for your child specifically. My son in the 100th percentile for both height and weight so getting enough food wasn't an issue, so it worked great for us!

Favorite Baby Products for the First Year | Owlet Dream Duo

Last on the list is the Owlet Dream Duo 2 and the Dream Sock. The Owlet Dream Sock is FDA cleared, and will track your infant's pulse rate, oxygen, wakings, and sleep trends. A member of the Breezing Through team had 2 NICU babies who came home on oxygen and the Owlet matched up with the hospital-grade monitors so we loved having the sense of security that it is accurate. I really liked pairing it with the camera as well, because then we could watch the baby, but we could also see all of that information from the camera on our phones. There are two different sizes of socks that come with the Dream Sock so you can change it as your child gets older.

That wraps up the list! Just to reiterate, you don't absolutely need any of these things. They are just things we really liked having during the first year of our son's life! You can shop any of the products from this list below.
