Creating A Travel Wall

As long as I can remember we have picked up little things everywhere we have traveled. Maps, masks, pictures, and other little trinkets that are unique to each place we stop. Over time, my parents placed each on a wall in their house. The collection grew and so did the space it took up. Now it covers almost an entire wall in my parents' basement.Creating A Travel Wall | Breezing Through I love the concept of a travel wall, so on our honeymoon I explained what it was to my husband. We bought a map of Bermuda made of pink sand to commemorate the trip. Ever since, we have picked up maps, pictures and other trinkets on our journies to remember them! Sadly we are in the middle of moving so I don't have a picture of our travel wall to share.Every now and then I will find something that cannot be put on the travel wall that I just have to bring home. These are usally small pieces that I can easily display throughout our home.Creating A Travel Wall | Breezing ThroughI bought this mosaic in Jordan. I'm not sure what I will do with is yet, but it may end up framed and on the travel wall. The rocks I picked up from the Dead Sea. They are so smooth and both have some salt on them still!Creating A Travel Wall | Breezing ThroughThis mask is from my trip to Venice. I think this is my favorite travel wall piece! I picked this out in a small shop around the corner from our hotel, The Danielle. I love how much character is in this mask and it reflects so much of my personality!Creating A Travel Wall | Breezing ThroughThis pot is very special to me. After leaving the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, my dad and I stopped at a small pottery store so I could pick something out to take home. I picked this small pot because I love the colors and the texture. Once I had picked it out, I haggled with the shop owner for the price. He probably got much more than it was worth but I was still able to get him to bring his price down!Creating A Travel Wall | Breezing ThroughI am obsessed with anything Disney. My family has been to Disney World many times and we love the Disney Crusies. I am trying to get a picture by this artist for each of the Disney World Parks. I only buy one every few trips when I remember to! So far, I have Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. I guess I'll just have to keep going back to get the rest!I think travel walls are a great way to remember your travels! What kinds of souvenirs do you buy when you travel and what do you do with them?Breezing Through Blog
