Charleston, SC: Where We Ate
Since we were in South Carolina for a week, and there were 14 of us, we didn't eat out every day. But when we did, it was always amazing! Here are some of the places we ate at.The Persimmon Cafe: This is a favorite spot in Charleston. You can read more about our first experience there here. This little cafe is located near Charleston College and is half restaurant, half laundromat. I love the vibe of this place! I took Paris here for lunch on our way into town, seeing as they make Gluten Free sandwiches. I stuck with my favorite, the Adult Grilled Cheese and Paris ordered the Caprese. I think the Caprese was better, it's definitely my new favorite!
Cory's Grilled Cheese: The first place we took everyone out to eat was a place I found on Yelp. My search for somewhere to eat included "Family Friendly, Group Friendly, Kind Friendly, Gluten Free". Cory's Grilled Cheese was at the top of the list and wasn't too far away from the beach house. It is located in a little strip mall just outside of Charleston. When you walk in there is a drum set and signs for an open mic night. The menu was extensive and everyone in the group was able to find something to eat. We definitely overwhelmed them a little, but 14 people all at once will do that. At one point one of the cooks came out front and said it would be a few minutes because he had to run next door to get some ingredients from the grocery store! I loved the decor of this place! The quotes on the napkin holders were my favorite though. With 14 people, I couldn't capture what everyone got but I got a few of them!

Charleston Crab House- Located next to the Charleston City Market, this place is always busy. They were able to accommodate the 9 of us that were there so of course we were thrilled. We were seated in the upstairs dining area, which was perfect because of course we are loud! They did not have a gluten-free menu but we made it work for us!
Low Country Bistro- I found this one on Yelp, and it is also located next to the Charleston City Market. They had an extensive Gluten free menu so Paris and I had lots of options!
Hege's- We ate at Hege's for Thanksgiving. They did a Thanksgiving Day special and opened early. It was fun to go out to eat for dinner and not have to worry about cooking or the clean up! They were great about the allergy issues we had in our group and customized the set menu to make sure we could eat as well.
Bon Banh Mi- This is also a Charleston favorite, you can read about our first time here. A few of us stopped here on our way back home. This is also located by Charleston College and usually has a few hospital employees eating at it.
