Autism Binder

When I shared my binder organization system a few years ago, I also shared the autism/medical binder I created for Jackie. At that time, a lot of the overwhelming response I got was: I wish my parents had done something like this for me and then given it to me when I graduated! Combine that feedback with conversations I've had with other parents I knew, I wanted to create something universal that had all of the information someone with a new diagnosis would need in one place.

The autism binder is geared for parents of autistic children who are going through the diagnostic process. They may not necessarily know what they're getting into and need help in navigating everything. This tool walks through all of the different information for evaluation and diagnosis, and there is a list of additional resources in the back. One of the reasons why this binder really is unique for an autism diagnosis is because I created worksheets to fill out and take to a doctor or someone who's going to evaluate yourself or your child for autism. This will allow you to have all of the relevant information for that provider in one place. At the end of the day, the provider's only seeing you or your child for a short amount of time. They don't live in your life day to day and don't know everything that's going on. Having everything in one place makes this process easier for everybody.

We have found this tool so helpful for our autism journey and I'm hoping it can make someone else's life a little easier. You can find the download for the binder in the downloads section of my shop. Stay tuned for the separate "medical binder" download for anyone who is looking to stay organized with medically complex children or special needs children as well.
