Amelia Island: Four Seasons Bistro

While visiting Amelia Island the spouse and I found a restaurant on Yelp with 28 reviews, Four Seasons Bistro. All but four of the reviews were five star ratings. Yelp can be a reliable resource if there are enough data points. With 28, we were fairly secure in our choice. We were familiar with restaurant's location -- on the main road from 95 to Amelia Island, by Lowe's, in a strip mall only partly occupied. So if you require beach front ambience with a lovely view, this isn't it.Amelia Island: Four Seasons Restaurant | Breezing ThroughIt is a very small, intimate restaurant with seating for about 50. We counted 5 staff members and two chefs working and keeping track of us and the other patrons making the service very fast and very good.Amelia Island: Four Seasons Restaurant | Breezing ThroughAmelia Island: Four Seasons Restaurant | Breezing ThroughThe pesto and bread were fresh and home made. The pesto was indeed the best I had ever had. The spouse ate the entire plate of bread.Amelia Island: Four Seasons Restaurant | Breezing ThroughMy house salad was served with a delicious peach vinaigrette that I highly recommend. The Caesar salad comes with or without anchovies. The spouse thought the Caesar had a bit too much cheese--maybe.Amelia Island: Four Seasons Restaurant | Breezing ThroughThe entrees were quite varied. The spouse had the grilled shrimp in a home made cream tomato sauce with pasta. He loved every bite.Amelia Island: Four Seasons Restaurant | Breezing ThroughI had the Jamaican pork with a house chutney and mashed sweet potatoes. It was tasty. The owner came to our table during dinner and asked us our opinion of our dining experience and requested feedback. Since he asked I did tell him that I thought that my entree while very flavorful was too sweet for an entree. He was genuinely interested in discussing options to improve the dish and noted my feedback.Amelia Island: Four Seasons Restaurant | Breezing ThroughWe were too full for dessert and my dinner had been very sweet, but the Four Seasons Bistro is famous in the community for creme brûlée. So having had creme brûlée in some famous places, we had to try it and put it on our list. While it won't rank in the top five worldwide, it was a nice dessert. We would definitely order it again. This is a lovely local restaurant. The owners take great pride in their work. They use locally grown, seasonally fresh foods. Their menu changes with the seasons as the restaurant name implies. This is a definite return location.Travel Well, Paris | Breezing Through
