2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Fitting Room Diaries | The Sale Is Open To The Public!

It's finally here. For those of you that have been oh so patiently waiting, you can now shop the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! If you are shopping online, I would suggest on snagging your items and checking out as soon as possible so you don't miss out on the items you want.

If you are planning on shopping in person, be aware that this year's sale is smaller than it has been in the past. At least it seemed that way to me. Having done most of my shopping online, I headed to my closest Nordstrom to do some returns yesterday. I decided I was going to try on a few things and make sure I had gotten everything I wanted. From just looking around, it seems like this sale is smaller than last year's. I will say that there are a lot of amazing basics that are included in this sale so it's a great time to stock up on those!

Also, can we take a second to talk about my shopping buddy? She was so good for the hour plus of shopping I did even though we were both pretty sleep deprived.

2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Fitting Room Diaries | Tops & Jeans

So I am doing a full blog post next week on tops from the sale, so I didn't want to spend too much time trying on tops. I didn't need any sweaters and I wasn't thrilled by any during the sale this year. I did try on the short sleeved version of this Caslon tee and I loved the strips! This is the perfect basic tee to add to your closet and you can layer with it through next Spring. I am wearing a size small, so there is a but of room in this shirt.

I wasn't looking to buy any jeans but I needed a pair to wear while I tried stuff on! I really liked these Kut from the Kloth Donna Ankle Skinny Jeans. The wash is really pretty and they are really flattering. I usually wear a size 6 jeans and I could have sized down to a 4 in these.

I wanted to try on some blazers because there are some great ones that are included in this sale. First up is this Caslon Knit Blazer. It comes in six colors, I grabbed it in the plum color and it is stunning. I grabbed a medium because that was the smallest size they had but I could have easily sized down to a small.

Next up is the J Crew Blazer. It comes in 4 colors, I am loving the pink! The navy is the perfect neutral and I love the fit. This would be perfect for work or even date night. I am wearing a size 6 and I feel like it fits true to size.

I went into the shoes looking for a pair of black booties. I tried on a few different pairs of shoes that weren't black but I could order in black. I did really like the Sam Edelman Bootie in Golden Caramel Suede and Sam Edelman Bootie in Stone Blue Suede. I usually wear a size 10 but I sized down to a 9 in these. I do have a very narrow foot but the sales guy did tell me that these shoes generally run big! I did love these booties and I felt like the heel was a good height.

I liked that the Sofft Bootie had a little shimmer to it, so it was a little different. This shoe does not come in black but it is a good neutral. I did try this on in a 10 and it fit true to size.

I actually ordered the UGG Slipper in Grey, so they are already in my closet. I love the color and the fit. If you are between sizes, I would suggest going up a size. These are a little tight but they are going to stretch out a little. I personally like my house shoes to be on the tighter side so they don't fall off, so I went with a size 10. I am also loving the same shoe in Chestnut.

I did try on the Caslon Braided Bootie and I was not a fan. I put them back in the box so fast, I forgot to take a picture! For my long narrow feet, they were too loose and made me look like I was wearing clown shoes.

I order this Danielle Nicole Nolan in Purple when I placed my original order. I love this bag. It is the perfect size and has both a zipper and a magnetic flap closure. I didn't love the Mustard color online but when I saw it in person, I regretted not buying it! It is perfect for Fall.

2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Fitting Room Diaries | Leather Jackets

The BLANKNYC MotoJacket with Removable Hood has been a popular jacket this sale. It has sold out and been restocked and now has limited sizing. I was thrilled when I saw that my store had a few sizes in Black. I was hoping to find a good leather biker jacket for the Fall. I was not thrilled when I put this jacket on. I am wearing a medium in this jacket but I don't love how short it is. I have a short torso so when I wear a jacket that cuts me off, I don't look proportional. I would say that this jacket will work better on you more petite ladies.

I did love the TopShop Biker Jacket. I liked the detailing on the sleeves and the length. It also has a little more room in the sleeves, so it would be easier to layer with this jacket.On the Nordstrom website, it says that 6 fits more like a 2-4. I am wearing a size 6 and I think it fits perfectly.
