World Autism Awareness Day

World Autism Awareness Day

Yesterday was World Autism Awareness Day and April is Autism Awareness month. You may have noticed landmarks all over the world were lit up blue yesterday to show their support.

I have shared my personal experience of being diagnosed with ADD and how growing up with a brother who has Aspergers and a brother with ADD impacted me and how I interact with others. You can read about that here.

This year marks 10 years since my diagnosis. My life has changed so dramatically since my diagnosis and the start of medication, I am grateful for the advances in medicine that allow me to take a medication every day that helps my brain work the way it is supposed to. Now that I have a baby girl to take care of, taking my meds has become even more important to me because I want to be the best mom I can be.

Thank you for all of the messages and comments since baby girl's birth. I will be doing a post about her birth story soon!
