Who doesn't want to save money? But sometimes, there are items that are worth spending money on. I personally like to find deals and getting the most out of my money. I have big on doing research before I buy an investment piece and sometimes I find that there are cheaper versions of what I am buying. I did a save vs. splurge post last fall and you all loved it. So I decided to do one for the summer for you to update your summer wardrobe!

Shoes, in my opinion, are not usually worth spending a ton of money on. They get the most ware out of anything you buy so why spend a ton of money on them? There are exceptions though!

I am sure you have all seen these shoes EVERYWHERE. There are so many different versions of them, it can be hard to decide which ones are the right ones to buy. I personally love the A New Day version. They are so cute and come in THREE heel heights and a bunch of colors. I have already bought them in 3 colors and I kind of what them in more. I love that there is a medium heel height so I don't have to worry about putting too much pressure on my hip. In this case, I definitely think that you should save and buy the cheaper shoe! They go on sale all of the time too!

Sam Edelman Gala Two Strap Slide Sandal $79.95
I bought the Old Navy version of this shoe last year and I don't think I would spend $80 on this shoe. It is perfect for running around during the summer but if you are anything like me, you end up stepping in a puddle or having your toddle dump water on your feet. I would have rather paid $20 for a pair of shoes if they end up getting ruined! The Old Navy version comes in a bunch of different colors and there is even a faux leather version too!

Keds X kate spade new york Champion Glitter Sneakers $85
This is probably the only instance with shoes were I will say splurge. I have both of these shoes. I love them both. But the Keds will forever be my favorite. So much so that I have them in 6 colors! They are incredibly comfortable and so cute. I wear them when I am doing a conference because they are professional looking but also a sneaker.

Fancy Frills Boutique Faux Wrap Midi Dress $27.99
Everyone needs a faux wrap dress for summer. This style looks good on everyone. But I am instant that it is a faux wrap dress. I can't stand an actual wrap dress. They are just too hard to deal with. If agree, you are going to want to go with the Fancy Frills dress. This dress comes in a bunch of colors and is SO SOFT. It is like wearing your pajamas. But you can wear it to work. In my mind, the cheaper version is the way to go.

Zognsi Round Straw Beach Bag - $35.99
Round straw bags are very popular right now but finding a cheaper one is harder. I did not want to pay $100 for a straw crossbody bag. I found this one from Amazon and it actually looks like the one that a lot of boutiques are selling for a lot more. It is definitely worth the price and I think it is really good quality. I think that this is definitely worth buying the cheaper option.

Michael Kors Mercer Perforated Leather Crossbody $248 (on sale for $98)
When this post goes live, the Michael Kors bag is going to be on sale. When it is not on sale, I would suggest going with the Sole Society bag. But when the MK bag is on sale, I would definitely say to buy it! Otherwise, the Sole Society bag is adorable and holds just the right amount of stuff for a date night or running errands. My only complaint would be is that the flap isn't easy to close.
