Rolling TV Stand Review

You know that rolling TV stand that you've seen all over the internet recently? Well, my mom decided to get one and asked me to put it together for her. So, I just wanted to walk you through how to build one of these and the pros and cons to having it in your home.

Rolling TV Stand Review | Set Up

The instructions are pretty simple, only one page. They laid out all the different pieces for it very nicely, but I really did not love assembling this. I assemble a lot of things all the time so I  can confidently say that it was difficult. The wheels were a pain in the butt to assemble to get them in. They didn't not read very smoothly and then went in crooked several times before I actually got them in.

The next step was to attach the hole to the base. All of the other parts were in a separate plastic bag, but the screws for this piece were screwed in so that you had to unscrew and then re-screw them back in. I don't know why they did it that way, it makes absolutely no sense. When I was screwing the pole in, I thought I had it tight enough and all the way in multiple times before It actually was in. Once the TV was on there, I had to re-screw them in several more times.

Also, when you are assembling the extension, you need to make sure that the wire goes all the way down and connects to the wire at the base, but you also need to make sure that the pole is facing the correct way. There are like four different ways that you can make this face and it actually matters because the TV has to be facing the same direction as the larger part of the base. The instructions are really not clear on that, so I took it apart and redid it four different times. One of which was when the TV was actually on the stand, which was not ideal. So, make sure you're paying attention and know which way the TV needs to be facing based on the base.

Then I needed to attach the TV to the hanging bracket. Honestly, this was probably the easiest part of the whole thing. I got it set up so that I could put it onto the pole for the base. Then I could attach the TV onto it. The instructions imply that you should put the bracket on to the base and then put the TV on, I would not suggest doing it this way. I tried it like this at first and and after it went very poorly I decided to take the bracket off of the base, attach the bracket to the TV, and then attach the whole thing to the base. You may need an additional person to make sure you have everything balanced when you're doing this. I was able to do it on my own, but it would have been much easier with a second person. This is when I figured out that I had the TV facing the wrong way based on the base, and I had to unscrew it and rotate it and then screw it back in. It was super fun.

Once I got it all figured out though, it worked and got the cord all tucked in. The cord actually plugs into the USB ports on your TV, and you can control the TV using the panel on the left and the base of the stand. Unfortunately, it didn't work with the TV that we had and we kept getting an error notice saying that the USB needed a different power source. It might work for a different TV, but from our experience it doesn't so you might want to test it out before actually following through with the whole thing. I will say, once everything was installed and I had it on the right way, the stand does roll really smoothly.

Rolling TV Stand Review | Final Thoughts

The one thing that I don't feel like anybody talks about with this TV is that you have to plug in the TV, which seems obvious, but all of the review I saw made it seem like it easily maneuvers around your house. However, if you're moving around your house, you have to unplug it and then plug it in in a new place. So it's not quite as easy and seamless at it seems. Final thoughts on this is: it's not terrible. It will definitely take you at least an hour to assemble because it's more complicated than it needs to be in my opinion, and it is kind of cumbersome, but my mom has liked it so that's what is important.
