Marriott Dead Sea Resort & Spa & The King Hussein bin Talal Convention Center | The Marriott

We had now checked into the Marriott Dead Sea Resort & Spa. Their hotel is beautiful. The staff at the hotel is amazing and they made us feel very at home. The entire Marriott property is beautiful and their pools are incredible. At breakfast every morning there was even gluten free bread available, which is always a plus! I would definitely recommend stay at the Marriott if you are ever at the Dead Sea.

Sadly, the Marriott  just does not have the space for the event I am planning. Luckily, the wonderful staff at the Marriott recommended the King Hussien bin Talal Convention Center which was right next door. They even arranged for us to have a meeting with the facilities event manager the next day. We did decide however, that the Marriott had lovely venues for other smaller dinners and events. They even had some events going on while we were there so the space was set up.

We had several other meetings to go to and things to arrange but we did get to go down to the Dead Sea one night and dip our feet in. There are the coolest rocks there and the layers of salt on the rocks on the beach are incredible. Floating in the water is the strangest experience but not one to be missed. My mom and I actually tried it out in the Dead Sea Pool at the Marriott spa. It was so weird!

I have this thing for water. I love the ocean, lakes, creeks, pretty much any body of water. My mom used to call me her little fish. This works out really well with my husband since he grew up with a pool. I just need to get him more excited about the ocean! I love hunting for rocks and sea shells when I'm at the beach.  Since the Dead Sea doesn't have any sea shells, I hunted for rocks instead. The rocks were so smooth and you could feel the salt and other minerals on them.

I have also heard that the mud from the Dead Sea does amazing things for your skin. Sadly we didn't have time and I would probably break out in hives if I smeared mud all over myself but my dad got this hilarious picture of some of the tourists.

The Marriott had arranged for us to meet with the manager of the King Hussein bin Talal Convention Center about using it as our venue. I was really excited about seeing the space. From the outside, the building is beautiful. It was built in 2005 for the World Economic Forum. They have hosted huge events and very important people. I was a little curious about how they would accommodate a smaller group.

We met with the manager and he took us on a tour of the space. They have so many meeting space options. It is the perfect venue for this event and we have room to spread out in case more people come than expected.

Sadly I don't have many pictures of the space, as I was busy talking to the manager. My mom was able to snap a few pictures of the outside space. Next door a new Hilton is being built. We will most likely have our attendees stay at the Hilton seeing as you can walk there from the Convention Center. Of course, now we have to go back to Jordan once the Hilton has been opened so we can make sure everything is up to our standards!
