After not really being able to plan Jackie's first birthday party, I was pretty excited to do this one. We scheduled it so it was the same weekend that The Husband's parents were in town. That meant that all of Jackie's grandparents and her only living great grandparents were there and we even got a picture!
I used these cute invitations that I found on Etsy and sent them to everyone. We kept the party small, only family, so it wasn't too overwhelming. I searched high and low for the perfect dress for Jackie for this party. I wanted something that worked with the theme but didn't scream Minnie Mouse. This dress was on Etsy for 3x the price so I was thrilled to find it on Amazon for a lot cheaper! Knowing that Jackie would never keep a headband with ears on, I found these cute ears on Etsy that worked with her little buns!

I made a full meal for Jackie's party last year. HUGE MISTAKE. It was so much work and really not necessary. My cousin did her daughter's 3rd birthday party with just cupcakes in November and I knew that's what we would do for Jackie's party. I got these darling mini cupcakes from Lainie's Cupcake Therapy. Not only were they delicious (so I am told) but she also make gluten free cupcakes too! I got some of those for my mom and I to have as well. I cannot recommend Lainie more. If you are in the Northern Virginia area and are looking for cupcakes, be sure to use her! She is over by the Leesburg outlets so it's a good excuse to go shopping too!
Paris and I made the Minnie Mouse shaped rice crispy treats. They were inspired by the ones you can buy at Disney World/ Disney Land. They really weren't that hard to make either! I will be doing a full blog post on that next week!
Jackie's Minnie Mouse Themed Birthday Party | Easter Egg Hunt
Jackie's birthday is usually either on or pretty close to Easter. When Paris asked if we could do the family Easter egg hunt during Jackie's party, I was thrilled! It was the perfect time/weather for the Easter Egg hunt and it made opening Jackie's birthday presents really chill because the younger kids all had something already! Jackie had zero interest in hunting for eggs though. She was much more interested in chasing everyone around the yard and playing with the front door!
