Introducing Me | Growing Up

Hi, my name is Emily. While I am not new to the blogging world in general, I am definitely new to being a blogger. In the last year or so, I have had a number of people ask me if/when I would ever start a blog and share a bunch of my secrets. I never really thought about it too seriously until I went on my last business trip. First, let me give you some background on what I do.

My parents have owned a small consulting firm since the early 2000s. One day my dad decided he wanted to start a conference, for various reasons, so he worked with different event planners. When things didn't work out with any of them, I stepped in and insisted that I could handle the event. I have to say, my parents must trust me a LOT to let me go ahead with that event with very little industry experience. So in November 2013, I launched my first large event, and it was a huge success! My mom says looking back that she should have known early on that I would eventually become an event planner, I was the babysitter who planned birthday parties and had a theme for everything.

So now, I am traveling the world and planning events! I have been to so many amazing places in the last two years and I am so grateful for it. Luckily, I was trained to travel from a very young age. My grandparents served a church mission in Germany from when I was 5 to 8 years old. My mom took advantage of their new home and took us to see them a lot. We spent summers and Christmas there and used their house as a home base to travel through the rest of Europe. After that, my parents used every work trip they could to get us out of the country. They took us to new places so we could experience new cultures and ideas.

My plan is to share my "secrets" on this little corner of the Internet.  I am no expert but I feel like I might have a few things someone can benefit from! Thanks for reading and follow me on Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook for more updates!
