How To Get My Glitter Eye Shadow Look
How To Get My Glitter Eye Shadow Look | Let’s Talk Makeup
It has been awhile since I did a makeup post! I’ve been promising to do one for awhile now and it’s finally time! You can find links for more of my makeup posts at the bottom of this post. So let’s talk makeup! I have gotten a few questions about how to do my glitter eye shadow look, specifically how to get the glitter as dense as I do, so today I’m going to go over that!
How To Get My Glitter Eye Shadow Look | Shadows I Use
I use Seint Beauty eye shadows and brushes. They are incredibly pigmented and last a really long time. They come in matte, shimmer and glitter shades. For my every day glitter eye shadow look I use Oak, Trust, You Complete Me, Sabrina and Graceland.
When I switch it up and do the pink version of this look, I use Mama, Lullaby, Bend & Snap, Sabrina and La La Land.
How To Get My Glitter Eye Shadow Look | The Right Brushes
Ok, let’s talk application. I’ve made the above diagrams so you can see where each color goes, but I’m going to explain the basic idea here too. Using the Eyeshadow brush, use the fluffier end to apply the lighter matte shade to the outer corner of your eye. Then using the Smudge brush, use the flatter side of the brush to apply the darker matte shade to the crease of your eye lid. Use the fluffier side of the same brush to apply the shimmer shade to your entire eyelid. Use the flat side of the Multitasker brush to apply Sabrina to your brow bone. You will use both the Multitasker brush and the Eyeshadow brush in the next step!
How To Get My Glitter Eye Shadow Look | Time to Prime
There are two key things to achieve the perfect glitter look. First, you need a glitter eye shadow primer. This gives the glitter something to adhere to instead of falling off your eyelid and all over the rest of your face. Use the small side of the Multitasker brush and apply the primer to the outer corner of your eyelid. Use the brush to make the primer tacky, which means blot at the primer until it feels sticky.
Second, use the smaller, dense side of the Eyeshadow brush to apply the glitter eye shadow. This brush is crucial to getting the dense glitter look. A dense brush gets a more compact looking result. Press the glitter onto the area of the eyelid where you have applied the primer. The more glitter you apply, the denser the glitter looks. You may need to add additional primer if you want to layer on the glitter.
