Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes | Two Ways

A request I get a lot is how to clean your makeup brushes. So I want to share with you how I do it.

Before Thanksgiving, I washed my brushes using water and Dawn dish soap. This required a bit of time both to wash them and to let them dry, overnight. In order to do this, put a drop of Dawn Dish soap on the brush. Using hot water, run the brush under water and rub the dish soap into the brush. Then rub the brush against a hard surface, which will help to remove the makeup from the brush. Let the brushes dry in an open space, best to do so on a towel. You will need to let them dry overnight, or all day.

The other option is Maskcara Beauty's brush cleaner, Restore. Spray 2-3 pumps on your brush. Wipe the brush onto a paper towel, which will remove the product from the brush. Do this until the brush wipes clean. Let dry in an open space. The brushes will be dry in just a few minutes!

Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes | Why I Love Restore

At the beginning of November, Maskcara Beauty released a long anticipated brush cleaner. Cara has been working on this for a long time and like anything else she creates, it's AMAZING!

To be honest, I didn't have a ton of expectations when it came to using Restore. I had used several other fast drying brush cleaners but I had never been all that impressed. They either didn't smell great or they left a color residue on the brushes. But when I used Restore for the first time, it blew me away. You can see my actual reaction in the video, that's the first time I used the product.

Before using Restore, I maybe washed my brushes once a week. It was just so time consuming that I put it off. Now, I am doing it every 2-3 days because it's so easy!
