How to Beat Jet Lag

Everyone has a trick to beat jet lag, and each trick works differently. Today I want to share with you a few that I use to get through jet lag.1) Change your sleep schedule before you leave. I do this when I am going to be gone a long time and I need to be ready to go when I land. I get up earlier and make sure I do a lot during the day so that I am tired earlier in the day. I set my alarm earlier each morning and I am eventually on the correct time. This works well for me because I work from home and I set my own schedule. This may not work for those who work a 9 to 5 job.2) Take a sleeping pill. This is probably a sensitive and controversial topic, but I truly believe in the power of modern medicine. If you have trouble sleeping, like I do, and jet lag and travel makes it worse, you can talk to your doctor about prescribing a sleeping medication. Of course, your doctor has to agree that this is the correct choice for you. If sleeping pills are something you can get a prescription for, take a pill after you land when it is time to go to sleep local time. This will help you get into the right sleeping cycle for where you are. If you don't want to commit to a sleeping pill, Zquil does the trick for me!3)Drink lots of water! You will get dehydrated when you travel and the best thing you can do for your body is to drink lots of water. Set goals for yourself, like drinking so many bottles of water within an hour.4) Upon arrival, keep yourself awake until you would go to sleep at home. I know I talked about this in #2, but if you can do this and not use a sleeping pill, I am seriously jealous of you! After you land, keep yourself busy. Go sight seeing, work, eat, whatever you have to do to keep yourself moving and awake. Just don't sit done on a comfy chair or a bed! You want to be so tired by 8 or 9 pm local time that you will crash no matter what time it is at home. Breezing Through
