How I Do My Grocery Shopping
I stumbled on Amazon Fresh when I was about 8 months pregnant. I was looking for a way to have my groceries delivered but I wanted to be able to buy in bulk, buy fresh (refrigerated and froze) items, buy from one place and also get a good deal. Amazon Fresh does all of that. This is how I do my grocery shopping now.
Since we live on the second floor of an apartment building (with no elevator), carrying groceries up the stairs with a baby was not on my list of things I wanted to do. So when I found Amazon Fresh and it actually worked, I was thrilled!
The first 30 days of Amazon Fresh are free, and then if you have Amazon Prime, you pay an additional $15 a month. In my world, this is definitely worth it. Amazon keeps track of any coupons that are available and automatically attaches them to your order. If you buy more than $40 worth of products, shipping is free. In my mind, why would you buy less than $40 worth of groceries?
Because it is through Amazon, you can buy pretty much anything, including lots of gluten free options. I have experienced that some items go out of stock, but they always get restocked. The best part is that you can order diapers and ice cream in the same order. Once you have picked all of the items you want to purchase, you then pick your delivery time. You have the option of doing Attended Delivery or Doorstep Delivery.
Attended Delivery has to be scheduled pretty far in advance so I haven't done it yet. I have done Doorstep Delivery for almost 2 months and it's been great. Amazon provides a time window when they will make the delivery. Everything is packaged in the green containers and depending on what is in the container, ice packs or dry ice are included. Nothing would go bad if the containers were left outside my door for a few hours in the heat. You can also leave your containers at your door from your pervious order, and they will be picked up when your order is dropped off.
You can use the Amazon App or the Amazon website to place your order. I like using the Amazon App on my phone so I can add to my cart whenever I think of something.
I have been recommending Amazon Fresh to everyone I have talked to since I had Jackie. People ask what the green containers in our front hall are so I have to explain! I have gotten a few family members hooked on it now too.
