Egypt: The Pyramids

On our last day, we went to see the pyramids. You can actually see them from downtown Cairo when the pollution isn't bad. When we got there, our driver tried to get us to rent a camel to get to the pyramids. We opted not to (getting in that exercise!) and made the short walk up the hill.  The pyramids are amazing. There is so much history there and I am in awe of how they were constructed. The Sphinx is located just in front of the pyramids. I noticed that it was a LOT smaller in person than it looks in pictures. It seems that photographers like to make the Sphinx look bigger than it really is.There are a lot of other buildings round the pyramids, where other important people were buried. While we did not go inside the pyramids, we did wander around these buildings some. That night, we got on a plane back to the States.
