Weekend at Bully's (Jackson, MS)

Weekend at Bully's | Breezing ThroughBully's is literally on the other side of the tracks. We actually crossed train tracks to get there. It's clear that it is a local's joint and that the majority of its customers are African American (aka a "soul food" joint).  I told myself that I would not leave the Deep South without a true soul food experience.Weekend at Bully's (Jackson, MS) | Breezing Through Weekend at Bully's (Jackson, MS) | Breezing Through We were welcomed into Bully's with open arms by a very friendly staff. They quickly found us a table in the corner and told us about the specials.Weekend at Bully's (Jackson, MS) | Breezing Through Weekend at Bully's (Jackson, MS) | Breezing Through I quickly identified the ham hocks as a target of interest on the menu. I've had some great experiences eating Schweinhaxen in Germany, and looked forward to a similar experience here in Mississippi. With some yams and green beans, I was looking forward to a tasty experience and was not disappointed. The ham was delicious and so were the sides. I left Bully's satisfied.Recommendation level: highBreezing Through - Dan
