Apple Picking in Winchester Virginia

We decided in September that we wanted to take my cousin apple picking this year. I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people before we decided where we were going to go. There are a lot of options in Virginia but not all of them are great ones. There are the organic apple farms, if that is your thing, and there are the non-organic apple farms. We decided on a non-organic apple orchard so we could pick bigger apples. We settled on Marker-Miller Orchards in Winchester, Virginia.Apple Picking in Winchester Virginia | Breezing ThroughApple Picking in Winchester Virginia | Breezing Through Apple Picking in Winchester Virginia | Breezing Through Apple Picking in Winchester Virginia | Breezing Through Apple Picking in Winchester Virginia | Breezing Through Apple Picking in Winchester Virginia | Breezing ThroughIt took us a little over an hour to drive out there, if you take Route 50, the drive is very pretty! Once we got there, I knew we had picked the right place. There is a huge playground for the kids that my cousin did not want to leave! You can go inside the Farm Market and buy fresh bread, cookies, donuts and all sorts of butters & jams. You can also buy pre-picked apples. We decided we wanted to go pick our own apples. You buy a bag at the counter, which ever size you want to fill. We took a wagon, which I am so glad we did! The entire family will eat these so it was an easy choice. They had a lot of different options though so if you want more than just one kind of apple, this place is a good choice. There were apples everywhere! The trees seemed a little shorter which made it easier for my cousin to pick them. It wasn't hard to find delicious apples either!Overall, we loved our experience at Marker-Miller Orchard and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an apple picking experience.Breezing Through Blog
