A Few Small Shops I Have Discovered | Supporting Small Businesses

I have always been a fan of supporting small businesses, having grown up in a family that owns a small business. But now more than ever, small businesses need our support. I did a post a few weeks ago about how we can support small businesses during this crisis.

In the last 6 weeks (I can’t believe it’s been that long) I have been digging around finding new small businesses to support. Some of them I found before the COVID-19 crisis but I hadn’t shared about them yet so I’m including them in this post. I have also included a list at the bottom of this post of other small businesses that I have posted about before!

A Few Small Shops I Have Discovered | Nugget

If you have small children and you don’t know what a Nugget is, this is going to be a game changer for you. I have been looking at a Nugget for Jackie for over a year. Not only is it a great way to get energy out and promotes imaginative play but it’s also a great occupational therapy tool. So when Nugget opened pre orders back in December, I jumped on it and placed an order. It was a 14 week shipping window, which was perfect because it landed just around Jackie’s birthday. Luckily for us, our Nugget arrived 3 weeks early and just days before Nugget closed their facilities.

The Husband was skeptical at first, he thought it was ridiculous. I’m not sure why he doesn’t trust my judgement on Jackie related gifts by now. But he has come around and agrees that’s it’s 100% worth the price tag. I love that you can buy different color covers and it’s washable! We have washed ours already and it’s holds up well. You can see from the pictures that Jackie loves it! They are currently sold out but you can sign up for notifications for when colors are restocked.

A Few Small Shops I Have Discovered | Cuddle + Kind

I thought lots of people knew about this brand but apparently they don’t so I am including them in this list! I have know about them for awhile but only recently bought one of the dolls for Jackie. She went from having 0 Cuddle + Kind dolls to having 5 in about 2 months because Paris and I loved them so much!

We have Eloise, Violet, Stella, Lucy and Chloe. Jackie loves all of them. She carries them around in a bunch, like they can’t be separated. I love it. These dolls are so incredibley soft, much softer than I was expecting. They come in 2 sizes, we have the smaller size for all of the dolls. The amazing thing about these dolls is that they give back. For every doll that is purchased, 10 meals are provided to a child in need in South America. The other thing I love is that they are made by women in Ecuador. So a small business that employs women in other countries, that also provides meals to children in need. Hard to beat that!

A Few Small Shops I Have Discovered | Moon & June Co

I discover Moon & June Co through an Instagram post supporting small businesses. Marley is a high school senior who makes the CUTEST bags. I love the fabrics she buys and the designs she comes up with. The boxy bag fits a lot more than you’d think!

Marley also has been making masks. Since the CDC has recommended that everyone wears a mask while out in public, masks are now going to be apart of our daily lives for awhile. I love the idea of having a cute mask and supporting a small business in the process!

A Few Small Shops I Have Discovered | Charly and Co

I am loving rainbows right now. I honestly want to find rainbow everything and buy it. When I found Charly and Co, I loved their color combinations. I did order some key chains and a wall hanging. Sadly due to the pandemic, they had to cancel my wall hanging order but they are still doing key chains. They make the sweetest gifts!

Jackie has been loving her rainbow key chain on her backpack. She grabs it and yells “Rainbow” every time she sees it. She also likes to rub the frayed bottoms on her hands.

A Few Small Shops I Have Discovered | Crimson and Wool

Thanks to my cousin for introducing me to Crimson and Wool. Sara makes the cutest little dolls, for both boys and girls. She just posted about a Frozen set that I am definitely regretting not getting! They are seriously darling!

A note, as of the date of this post, Sara is not taking orders. She did post an update yesterday saying that she would add more tutorials to Youtube and would list ready to mail items when they were ready for sale!
