2020 Small Shop Gift Guide
This year, I feel like we have been bombarded with big brand sales while they try to keep us shopping and interested. It's become such a constant thing, that I feel like items are on sale more than they are not.
With all of the craziness of 2020, I feel like the businesses that need our support the most are small businesses. While big box stores do employ a lot of people and do support the economy, there are 30.7 million small business in the US, making up 99.9 percent of the US economy. When you buy from a small business, you are directly supporting a family, an artist and an entrepreneur. As a small business owner myself, I am only focusing on small business in this year's gift guide. I will still be sharing sales on items I love from every store throughout the holidays, but this is the only gift guide I am doing this year.
I have either bought something or am eyeing something from each of these shops! I have linked each of them below, talked about why we love them. A lot of these shops have either already started their holiday sales or will be having them next week so I have added any sale information each shop has shared!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide | Andi
I recently found this cute shop and fell in love with their cute Apple Watch bands. I have really sensitive skin so I can't wear a watch band with any kind of metal that touches my skin. Finding something thats cute and comfortable was a bit tricky but these bands are so cute! They have some great options that both look like scrunchies and don't. I am snagging a few more during their Black Friday Sale.
Scrunchies as low as $2 and 25% off all regularly priced items with code ANDIBLACKFRIDAY
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Beddys
I have known about Beddy's for about a year now, but I didn't buy any of their bedding until last month when I was prepping for Jackie's bed. And the hype is REAL! This bedding, which is a fitted sheet and a comforter all in one, goes on like a fitted sheet and then the blanket zips on and off. You can get minky lined or cotton lined from toddler sized beds to king sized beds! Now is a great time to stock up on sets for your home.
BOGO 50% off with code THANKSBOGO20
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide | Blue & Co
I discovered this company a few weeks ago and I fell in love. Jordan is a designer but also a fellow Autism mom. Each pillow is named after someone with Autism and Jordan shares their story to educate the world on people with Autism. I bought a few of her pillow covers last month and they are beautiful!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Blue Rose Pottery
If you have been around here long enough, you know my love for Polish Pottery! I do love supporting the Polish shops that we found in Warsaw but there are also some US stores you can support as well. Blue Rose Pottery is one of them! We were able to go to their store in SC in 2018 and it was so fun to see what they had! They have one of the best online selections of Polish Pottery that I have seen.
You can sign up for their email list to get notifications about their sales!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Camp Castle Playmats
We LOVE our Camp Castle Play mats. I am all for products that can be wiped down and easily cleaned, especially for Jackie. And Haley has the cutest designs! You may remember that I used a downloadable version of some of the mats earlier this year when we had to do home school!
November 22-29: 20% off your order with code THANKFUL
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Charly & Co
This darling company is one I featured earlier this year when I was trying to support small business when the pandemic started. They have the cutest rainbows from keychains to wall hangings (we have both) and you can even custom order your colors! These would make the cutest stocking stuffers for anyone, kid to adult!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |CozzyCo
We love CozzyCo! I don't know if I ever shared the original story about how I found Maddi so I'll do it now. When I had my hip surgery in 2018, I wanted to get some unique things for Jackie's birthday. I ordered a beautiful crocheted unicorn from a vendor and then waited. And waited and waited. I reached out and the vendor told me that they were a little behind but would get to my order (this was three months later). I kept in touch with her and every month there was a new excuse. So after 6 months, I finally asked for a refund since I didn't think she would ever make the doll. No response. So I left a review, and it wasn't a good one. The vendor finally refunded my order after seeing the review.
I was a little nervous about finding a new unicorn (this was well past Jackie's birthday at this point). I told my cousin the story and she shared that Maddi had just made a very similar unicorn for her daughter. So I got in touch with Maddi and in less than 2 weeks, we had a beautiful unicorn! And I have been a huge fan ever since! I love when people deliver and follow through and I try to support those people as much as possible. We have bought a number of other items from Maddi (including that Winnie the Pooh set she has listed, the Tiana doll and Paris bought the nativity scene and some pumpkins!). Maddi has the cutest ready to ship items and will also do custom orders as well. That's actually how the Winnie the Pooh set came to be. I bought Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore from her and Jackie loved them so much, I asked Maddi to do the rest of the characters!
November 22-25: 25% off ready to ship items, 10-15% off made to order items, flash deals through IG stories
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Doughsie Dough
Sensory kits are a big deal for Jackie and I found Doughsie Dough last year! We have loved them since. They have the cutest themed play dough kits but I love the different sizes of kits you can get. And they have holiday themed kits too! The Husband's mom sent Jackie a Halloween set in October and it's been a huge hit!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Grace & Lace
I have talked about Grace and Lace for years. If you have ever wondered where my OTK boot socks are from, it's here! They are always releasing new products and last year I discovered their pocket poncho scarf, which I have several of now! I also love their mission, which is building orphanages for girls in India!
Check out the Beat The Rush sale page for all sorts of deals, including BOGO 50% off those OTK socks!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Hey Cute Designs
Some of our favorite Taylor Joelle dresses have designs from Hey Cute Designs on them! Diane is Jenny's mom and I love that they each have their own businesses but they also collaborate often. I love Diane's style and she has the cutest prints and party packs!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Ivy City Co
If you are looking for the cutest matching mommy and me dresses, these are it! I love that Ivy City had created a space for cute and comfy dresses that both Jackie and I want to wear! All of their designs are original, which I also love! You can see us wearing a lot of their dresses in our weekly #bylundsundayselfie pictures!
Nov 19 -Nov 20 30% off site wide, more sales next week as well!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Kamaria Jewelry
I have shared Kamaria Jewelry before but it's been too long. Founded by survivors, for survivors, Kamaria supports survivors of campus sexual assault. I also happen to know one of the founders from middle school! They have beautiful pieces that you can feel good about buying! I have a ring that I bought from them that is one of my favorites.
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Lates By Kate
Are you sick of hearing about Lates By Kate pjs from me yet? I talk about them ALL THE TIME, because they are just that good. I have gotten a few other people hooked on them as well and I am gifting a few pairs this year. These pjs sell out fast! Kate says they are doing a restock the first week of December so keep an eye out!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Letterfolk
Letterfolk has the cutest little toys and home decor items but my favorite thing from them is their Tile Mat. It's a door/floor mat that you can change to fit your decor or the season. They also release limited edition tile colors each season so you can really change your mat up. I ordered one for our new house and it took a few months to arrive (it was a pre order) but we love it. Jackie likes to help me change up the tiles and it's a great fine motor skill activity for her. Also, you save on buying door mats for every season!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |London Littles
London Littles has the cutest, high quality rain boots at a reasonable price. I bought a pair for Jackie a few years ago when they launched (I sized up 3 sizes) and Jackie is still wearing them on rainy days. They are perfect for school and the playground.
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Moon & June
Moon & June is another shop I discovered earlier this year and fell in love with. I loved Marley's boxy bags and pencil pouches but she also makes the cutest masks! I have 4 now and I have a hard time deciding on a favorite. These would make the perfect stocking stuffer!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Nugget
This was my best purchase of 2019. I got on a preoder list in December of 2019 with the hope that we would get our Nugget in time for Jackie's 3rd birthday in 2020. Not only did it arrive in time for her birthday, but it arrived just before they had to shut down their factory due to Covid! It has been the most played with thing in our house. We build forts, tunnels, slides, create stages, trampolines and so much more. Jackie likes to be smushed between the cushions for sensory stimulation. And the best part, her therapists love it too!
Nugget is a small company that is trying to keep up with the HUGE demand. While you can get other similar products else where, I think the original Nugget is worth the wait. Right now, they are offering two ways to purchase. You can buy a raffle ticket which puts you into a pool that is drawn from every week. People who win the raffle will receive their Nugget within a few weeks. You can also go on the backorder list. The shipping timeline for the backorders is mid 2021, which is a wait but you are guaranteed your Nugget! If I could justify a second one to the Husband, I would get on that backorder list today. But I don't think he would go for it.
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Pine & Poppy
I found this cute shop a few weeks ago and I am swooning over her designs! I do know that she doesn't offer discounts at the Holidays but she is doing another custom product opening at the beginning of December along with ready to ship openings between now and then. You can find out more about her openings on her Instagram page.
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Rad/Rev
I found Rad/Rev through Rad & Happy (see below) a few months ago. I love what Mallory is doing and I love her products. I have been eyeing her the 1 in taupe diaper bag since she released it and I think I will be snagging one next week. I do know what she has limited stock on a lot of items that won't be back until the new year!
Nov 27 at 8 am PST - 30% off all weekend long with code
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Rad & Happy
I LOVE my Rad & Happy planner, and I bought another one for next year. I have gifted them, given them away and more. I also loved Tara's Color Happy subscription earlier this year. We paused it during the move but I am bringing it back for Christmas this year! Tara has the cutest designs and also offers doodling and lettering classes! This would be a great gift for someone who has everything!
Warehouse moving sale - $1 cards and more!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Saranoni
If you are looking to buy blankets this year, look no further! These are by far our favorite blankets and they are a hit to give as gifts! I have family members who beg for these each year! Their Black Friday Sale (which lasts all week) is the best sale of the year. I usually stock up on Christmas present with the bigger blankets but I also get the receiving blankets to have on hand for baby gifts! During the sale they are around $10, which is a great deal! I am thinking I'll get another XL throw for our new house!
Monday Nov 23: 25% off site wide with doorbusters even lower, join their Facebook group for early access!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Spark Hope
I met Katie on Instagram years ago and we have kept in touch since. Last year, Katie lost her dad to cancer. When she opened Spark Hope, she committed to help fight this terrible disease and donates a portion of her proceeds from Spark Hope to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL to help with patient care.
Katie has curated the cutest selection of jewelry and accessories that would make great gifts!
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |Taylor Joelle
Jackie lives in these dresses. She hardly wears anything else. The majority of Jenny's dresses (excluding some of the Halloween designs) can be worn all day. I know a lot of people buy the Character inspired dresses to go to Disney but I think they can be every day wear as well. They are subtle and comfy! Each dress is lined with cotton so your little one isn't rubbing up against tulle all day. Jackie loves to look through the app and pick new dresses she wants. I'll be buying a few more next week during the sale for sure!
Friday Nov 27- Monday Nov 30: 15% off new collection + deeper discounts off select past designs
2020 Small Shop Gift Guide |TwentyEight12
You may have seen the garlands in our entry way or on Jackie's bed and wondered where I got them. I have been shopping with TwentyEight12 since the Husband and I were first married (the first thing I bought was a rose gold sequins pillow cover). I love the designs they come up with for their garlands and this year I bought stockings from them too!
